Job summary

InfraSource, a project-focused division, seeks an experienced Project Manager for its Substation team. The role involves on-site leadership, coordinating field crews, and ensuring timely, safe project execution while managing budget and schedule across PA and DMV regions.

The ideal candidate has utility construction experience, proficiency with scheduling tools, and a readiness to travel. A hybrid work setup is anticipated with strong collaboration with the Program Director.

Qualifications

• Experience managing Electric or utility infrastructure construction projects (distribution/transmission).
• Willingness to travel as needed and work across PA/DMV regions.
• Strong proficiency with MS Project and Primavera P6 for scheduling.
• Ability to manage budgets, forecasting, and cost reporting.
• PM certifications such as PMP/CCM are a plus.

Responsibilities

• Create and own the project execution plan including safety, staffing, and scheduling.
• Develop and maintain project documentation and file systems.
• Manage projects with P&L responsibility and cost controls.
• Serve as primary contact for customers, inspectors, and stakeholders.
• Coordinate field supervision, estimating, safety, and support teams.
• Ensure Change Orders are documented per contract and close-out per policy.
• Develop critical path schedules and weekly status reports.

About this Role

IFSE InfraSource is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our Substation team. The Substation team specializes in the safe and efficient installation, maintenance, and upgrading of complex substations and security systems to ensure reliable power delivery. This role will work closely with the Substation Director, Superintendent, and project field crews. The Project Manager will be a hybrid role requiring periodic travel between multiple project sites throughout the PA, and DMV region, with most work requiring an on-site presence coordinated with the Program Director. Field involvement is critical for developing the Project Manager’s understanding of all aspects of substation and underground transmission construction, ultimately making them a key asset in successful project execution.

What You'll Do

• Create and own the project execution plan, including safety, staffing, scheduling, and productivity targets
• Develop,maintainand update project documentationandproject file system (physical and electronic)
• Manage projects with responsibility for overall P&L performance, including budget adherence, margin protection, and cost controls
• Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, inspectors, and key stakeholders
• Ensure stakeholder notification and buy-in
• Lead and coordinate field supervision, estimating, safety, and support teams to achieve project objectives
• Ensuring Change Orders are documented per the contract
• Complete project close-out per company policy
• Accruals are tracked weekly/monthly and turned in at the end of every week
• Develop andmaintaincritical path schedules in MS Project and/or Primavera P6
• Prepare and present weekly project status reports covering cost, schedule, risk, and production
• Workinterdepartmentallyto make sure all revenue is accounted for andaccurate
• Forecasting cost scope schedule resources daily/weekly/monthly
• End of month explanations for variances to forecast
• Work with internal support groups to set up projects in the accounting system

What You'll Bring

• Demonstrated experience managing Electric or utility infrastructure construction projects (distribution, transmission, or related utility work)
• Minimum of2years of project management experience in utility, industrial, or heavy construction environments
• Willingness to travelas needed
• Ability to interpret and communicate project requirements
• Ability to apply established project management methodologies to complex utility construction environments
• Proficient in MS Office Applications: MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project
• Proven ability to manage project budgets, forecasting, cost reporting, and earned value
• Desired: PMP, CCM, or equivalent project management certification
