Job summary

JHM Construction is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead structural concrete and masonry projects in Sarasota, FL. The role blends office planning with hands-on field oversight, coordinating crews, subcontractors, and design teams to keep projects moving on schedule and within budget.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years managing structural concrete or CMU masonry, strong scheduling and communication skills, and proficiency with Procore and Bluebeam; a Florida market familiarity is a plus.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in structural concrete or masonry.
• Strong scheduling, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience managing field crews and subcontractors.
• Proficiency with MS Excel; familiarity with Procore and Bluebeam preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural concrete and masonry projects from buyout through completion and closeout.
• Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower planning, procurement, and field coordination.
• Coordinate field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners.
• Stay involved in the field to identify issues before they impact schedule or budget.
• Ensure daily logs, timesheets, field reports, photos, and documentation are maintained daily.
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
• Communicate with general contractors, owners, architects, and engineers.
• Track project changes and maintain documentation for job costing and billing.
• Maintain JHM's standards for quality, safety, organization, and professionalism.
• Keep leadership informed of status, risks, and changes; mentor field leadership as needed.

Job description

JHM Construction is looking for an experienced Project Manager to join our Sarasota team and manage structural concrete and masonry projects from buyout through closeout.

This is a hands‑on project management role for someone who understands the work in the field, communicates well with crews, subcontractors, clients, and design teams, and knows how to keep projects organized and moving.

JHM performs both commercial and high‑end residential work throughout Sarasota and Southwest Florida. We self‑perform and subcontract structural concrete and masonry scopes, including foundations, cast‑in‑place concrete, elevated structural concrete, CMU masonry, and related structural work.

Responsibilities

• Manage structural concrete and masonry projects from buyout through completion and closeout
• Develop and maintain project schedules, manpower planning, procurement, and field coordination
• Coordinate JHM field crews, subcontractors, suppliers, and trade partners
• Stay actively involved in the field, understand project conditions, and identify issues before they impact the schedule or budget
• Ensure daily logs, employee time sheets, field reports, jobsite photos, manpower records, and other required project documentation are completed accurately and maintained daily
• Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Communicate directly with general contractors, owners, architects, engineers, and other project stakeholders
• Track project changes and maintain accurate documentation for job costing and billing
• Maintain JHM's standards for quality, safety, organization, and professionalism
• Keep company leadership informed of project status, upcoming needs, risks, and changes
• Support and mentor field leadership as needed

Qualifications

• 5+ years of project management experience in structural concrete, masonry, or closely related construction
• Strong understanding of structural concrete and/or CMU masonry construction
• Comfortable working both in the office and on active jobsites
• Proven ability to manage field crews and subcontractors
• Strong scheduling, coordination, and problem‑solving skills
• Organized and disciplined with daily reporting, time sheets, RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Procore and Bluebeam is preferred
• Familiarity with Florida construction practices and the Southwest Florida market is a plus
• Valid driver's licenseAbility to regularly visit projects throughout Sarasota and surrounding Southwest Florida
