Job summary

Haskell, a nationally recognized Top Workplace in Jacksonville, seeks an entry-level project management professional to support project managers, the Operations Manager - Steel Shop, and the Director of Steel Fabrication. This Level I role includes training in company tools, standards, policies, and procedures.

You will identify subcontractors, prepare bid packages, develop cost codes, and help update schedules and progress reports.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies and qualifies subcontractors and vendors for assigned scopes of work. Prepares and transmits bid packages and invitations to bid. Receives and analyzes received bids. In conjunction with project manager, may negotiate and award subcontracts and purchase orders.
  • Prepares detailed estimates and cost codes for initial cost control reporting and updates labor cost reports and summary cost reports. Works with accounting to maintain subcontractor and vendor requirements for payment processing.
  • Works with project team to prepare and update progress schedules including short term interval schedules. Oversee in planning construction operations and sequences.
  • Interact with client including correspondence, periodic reports, change order requests, submittal of pay requisitions, and response to client inquiries and directives, as directed by project manager.
  • Checks, receives and transmits submittals; maintains submittal control log; prepares and manages requests for information and maintains RFI log.
  • Works on the preparation of project close-out requirements including unit cost history, punch list management and inspections.
  • Travel as required.
  • Other duties which may be assigned as needed.

Scope of Position

Level I: Entry-level project management position. Supports project managers, Operations Manager - Steel Shop and Director of Steel Fabrication by completing assigned tasks. Education & Years of Experience

Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management, or equivalent.

Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, team members may be required to visit alternate locations and therefore must have ordinary ambulatory skills sufficient to do so. This position requires the ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and manipulate (lift, carry, move) light to medium weights of 10-50 pounds. Requires good hand-eye coordination, arm, hand, and finger dexterity, including ability to grasp, and visual acuity to use a keyboard, operate equipment and read application/form information. The team member is frequently required to sit, reach with hands and arms, talk, and hear.
