Apply now and unlock endless possibilities!Job DutiesProject /Practice Management1. Provide project and engineering oversight from project conception through commissioning and startup.2. Lead the technical interface between the project, operations, maintenance, and EH&S groups to insure all operational and regulatory requirements are incorporated into any project design.3. Have a working level knowledge of LSBs plant processes and understand how the projects will interface with the existing units.4. Develop project scopes, create clear project deliverables, and create and execute project work plans.5. Develop detailed cost estimates for project scope to utilize in project economics. Detail level of accuracy based on AACE international or other similar estimating practice.6. Develop a project schedule and maintain/track details to ensure the schedule is updated and accurate to the level of available information.7. Develop and manage engineering and construction budgets to support the project milestones.8. Review and update forecasted spend on routine basis.9. Manage engineering and construction contractors, as well as equipment vendors in support of projects.10. Insure “Lessons Learned” from previous development efforts are incorporated into current and future project efforts.11. Participate in budget, status, and management team meetings to provide input and resolve issues.12. Manage day-to-day operational aspects of a project.13. Apply LSB methodology and enforce project standards.14. Prepare for LSB leadership phase gate reviews and adhere to LSB project phase gate process.15. Minimize LSB exposure and project risk by developing and monitoring risk register and ensure risks are appropriately addressed throughout project development, detail design, estimating, and execution.16. Ensures project documents are complete, current and stored appropriately.Financial Management1. Develop cost control measures into projects that monitor, report and control project costs.2. Have working knowledge of project economic models and comparing projects based on NPV and IRR to report and compare capital projects.3. Assures project legal documents are completed and signed.Communication1. Develop strong working relationships with all LSB groups as well as contractors and technology suppliers.2. Facilitate team and client meetings effectively.3. Holds regular status meetings with project team.4. Keeps the project team well informed of changes within the organization and general corporate news.5. Effectively communicates relevant project information to leadership.6. Delivers informative and well-organized presentations.7. Resolve and/or escalate issues in a timely fashion.8. Understands how to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully.Technical Understanding1. Capable of traveling to equipment sites, performing fit-for-service inspections, reporting, and utilizing information to develop project scope of work and facilitate cost estimating of existing equipment.2. Working knowledge of industry codes including ASME piping specifications, Boiler & Pressure Vessel Code, National Electric Code, and similar codes used for equipment specifications, design and installation of industrial equipment.3. Assures that all design specifications conform to the latest national and local codes, rules and regulations.4. Create request for equipment quotations for project cost estimates using equipment specifications.5. Familiar with supply chain and procurement policies and work with purchasing agent to solicit and evaluate bids.Leadership1. Inspires coworkers to attain goals and pursue excellence.2. Acts as technical resource for engineers with less experience.5. Advanced degrees as well as professional registrations (PE, PMP, PMI, etc.) are a plus.3. Accreditation in AACE international estimating practices a plus.4. Knowledge of applicable codes and industry regulations for ammonia facilities (ASME piping code, ASME Section VIII, NEC electric code, etc.)5. Knowledge of large-scale capital projects6. Demonstrated performance in completing plant projects successfully, on time and on budget within an operating production facility.7. Experience in all facets of project disciplines (instrumentation, electrical, piping, civil, structural, rotating and static equipment).8. Ability to use project scheduling software, MS Office, JD Edwards, AutoCad, NavisWorks and other similar industry software programs.9. Minimum 15 years of operating company experience (project and operations), preferably with most of the experience with nitrogen-based production facilities. Additionally, a minimum of 7 years of project experience is required.10. Strong project leadership skills.11. Excellent Interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.12. Ability to work within stringent deadlines.13. Able to manage multiple projects with shifting priorities.14. Able to work without supervision and make independent decisions.15. Strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills.16.
