Job summary

EHRA Engineering in Houston, TX seeks a Project Manager to oversee the development of construction drawings for commercial development projects, minimizing impacts and maximizing site usage. As a PM you will provide oversight on projects while mentoring upcoming team members.

You will coordinate with clients, design teams, and reviewing agencies, manage CAD/engineering staff, and ensure contractual obligations are met. This role emphasizes leadership and technical excellence.

Qualifications

  • 6+ years of related experience.
  • P.E. designation in Texas.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Valid TX Driver’s License and ability to operate a motor vehicle may be requested.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; solid working knowledge of Civil 3D/AutoCAD.

Responsibilities

  • Manage projects and plan development for multi-family, commercial/retail, industrial, and other project types.
  • Lead design analyses, evaluating engineering options for potential tracts.
  • Attend and conduct meetings with clients, team members, and reviewing agencies.
  • Build relationships with clients, community leaders and government officials.
  • Serve as subject matter expert to clients at the project level.
  • Execute client project requirements to ensure contractual obligations are met.
  • Manage CAD Drafters/Designers and Engineers to ensure quality plan production.
  • Oversee and mentor staff within the project team.

Typical Duties And Responsibilities


  • Responsible for managing projects and plan development for multi-family, commercial/retail, industrial, and other types of projects.

  • Responsible for concept development and participate in the design analyses, independently evaluating, selecting, and applying engineering assessment for potential tracts.

  • Able to attend and conduct meetings successfully with clients, team members, and reviewing agencies with minimal assistance.

  • Build relationships with clients, community leaders and government officials.

  • Be a subject matter expert and trusted resource to our clients at the project level.

  • Execute client project requirements to ensure contractual obligations are met.

  • Manage the work of CAD Drafters/Designers and Engineers to ensure accurate and quality plan production.

  • Oversee and mentor the development of staff within their project team.



Knowledge, Skills And Abilities


  • Attention To Detail- Job requires being careful and thorough about detail in completing work tasks.

  • Complex Problem Solving- Identifying complex problems and reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions.

  • Engineering and Technology- Knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology. This includes applying principles, techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of company services.

  • Dependability- Job requires being reliable, responsible, and dependable, and fulfilling obligations.



Education, Certification And Experience


  • 6+ years of related experience.

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) designation in the state of Texas.

  • Bachelor’s Degree (or higher) in Engineering or related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Valid TX Driver’s License and ability to operate a motor vehicle may be requested.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Solid working knowledge of Civil 3D/AutoCAD software.



Physical Requirements


  • This is frequently a sedentary role operating in variable settings.

  • While performing the duties of this job, the team member is continually required to talk or hear.

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, digital camera and devices.

  • The team member is frequently required to stand, walk and reach with hands and arms.

  • The employee may be required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
