Job summary

Worley Group, Inc. seeks a results-driven Project Manager to lead large-scale energy projects in the Charleston, WV area. You will oversee design, procurement, construction, and commissioning while ensuring safety, schedule, and budget adherence.

You will coordinate with clients and stakeholders, manage scope and cost, and drive value through effective leadership and comprehensive risk and change management. This role offers visibility and a path to senior project leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with High Value Engineering Centre.
• Delivery of energy/chemical projects including scope, cost and schedule.
• Project Manager for projects >$25 Million TIC.

Responsibilities

• HSE Management: ensure compliance with HSE procedures and that HSE requirements are understood by all project participants.
• Client Relationships: identify and communicate client requirements; manage stakeholders and resolve issues.
• Commercial Management: manage Worley/Client contract effectively.
• Scope Management: define scope and ensure contract compliance; manage change control and interfaces.
• Time Management: plan and resource the project; monitor reports; achieve timely turnover at close-out.
• Cost Control: estimate costs, monitor forecasting and trends to avoid overruns.
• Quality Management: define quality requirements and ensure compliance with Worley procedures.

The Role

We are looking for a motivated and collaborative professional with strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving capabilities who can effectively navigate complex engineering challenges.

In this role, you will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of assigned projects, overseeing all phases from design and procurement through construction and commissioning. You will work closely with clients and stakeholders to establish clear project objectives and ensure successful outcomes that meet or exceed expectations. The successful candidate will be accountable for delivering projects safely, on schedule, and within budget, while achieving targeted commercial results and demonstrating visible leadership in health, safety, and environmental (HSE) performance.

What you'll do

• HSE Management - Ensures compliance with all HSE procedures and that HSE requirements are documented and understood by all project participants.
• Client Relationships - Identifies, documents and communicates client requirements. Effectively manages multiple stakeholders and maintains / develops healthy client relationships throughout the project and post-completion. Proactively resolves performance, scope, cost and schedule issues with the Client as they arise.
• Commercial Management - effectively manages Worley/Client contract.
• Scope Management - manages an effective handover from the Business Development Group. Clearly defines scope and compliance with requirements of the contract. Effectively manages change control process application, project interfaces, including use of High Value Engineering Centers. Manages and monitors project performance to identify issues and opportunities early and seizing opportunities to take pre-emptive action.
• Time Management - Manages the planning of all scope elements of the project. Develops resource and financial requirements from the project plan. Manages the design, procurement and construction activities to meet the project schedule. Routinely monitors the key reports and development of corrective action plans. Achieves timely and effective documentation turnover at project close-out.
• Cost Control - Plans and prepares accurate project estimates. Establishes cost reports for control of projects. Monitors and controls all cost aspects of the project including forecasting costs, obtaining approvals, identifying trends and taking action to avoid cost overruns and identifying opportunities. Continual assessment of performance of cost control system and personnel.
• Quality Management - Defines the project quality requirements. Ensures the right systems are in place and applied on the project. Develops a project schedule which allows work to be executed in logical sequences. Ensures compliance with Worley policies and procedures.
• Team Management - Provides clear and focused leadership for the project team to create a vision for project success and a strategy to fit that vision. Focuses on achievement of milestones and other key project objectives. Provides mentoring and participates in staff performance evaluations.
• Communications Management - Ensures accurate and timely progress reporting to the client and internally to Worley management. Ongoing monitoring of the communication network between project staff, the client and third parties and introduction of changes where required.
• Risk Management - Identifies project risks and opportunities. Monitors closure of all identified risks and opportunities.
• Design Management - Sets clear objectives for the design team. Ensures design team is aware of and complies with client's Basis of Design and applicable regulations and codes. Monitors design activities, inter-discipline data flow and communications.
• Procurement/Subcontracts Management - Sets clear objectives for procurement and subcontracts team. Assesses procurement process through the project to ensure goods meet specifications and are delivered on time and within budget.
• Construction Management - Sets clear objectives for the Construction team. Monitors the Construction Management function to ensure safe delivery of the project within cost and schedule objectives.

What you'll bring

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or related discipline, or equivalent education and experience.
• Experience working with / within a High Value Engineering Centre
• Industry experience with successful delivery of projects, including Chemicals, and Hydrocarbons
• Execution as Project Manager for projects greater than $25 Million TIC
• Demonstratable commitment to HSE Management in a project Environment
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
• Knowledge of Management of Change (MOC) process
• High level of customer focus
• Proven ability in leading multidiscipline activities

• Masters Degree in Engineering or related discipline
• PE Licensure
• PMP Certified
