Job summary

Tighe Architecture in Los Angeles is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Architect to lead design teams on large commercial, mixed-use, and housing projects. This full-time role requires strong technical and coordination skills, with a focus on documentation, client communication, and guiding projects through all phases.

The ideal candidate has a professional architecture degree, 5–15 years of experience, proficiency in Revit, and the ability to work on-site in LA.

Qualifications

• Professional architecture degree from an accredited school.
• 5-15 years of relevant professional experience.
• Registered Architect preferred, but not required.
• Proficiency in Revit is required; familiarity with Rhino, Bluebeam, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite expected.
• Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with attention to detail.
• Ability to lead and direct multiple design teams and projects across phases.
• Must be able to work locally at our LA office with authorization to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple aspects of client, project, and general contractor coordination, including full documentation coordination with design and engineering consultants.
• Oversee technical aspects of projects to ensure alignment with scope, design, budget, client goals, and coordination.
• Lead design meetings and presentations with clients and stakeholders.
• Perform design work across programming, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and construction documentation.
• Prepare presentations, renderings, and other materials to convey design ideas.
• Participate in selection and presentation of FF&E, color palettes, and lighting.
• Maintain project manuals and specifications.
• Conduct and document on-site observations and submittals during construction.
• Interface with building and permitting officials during permitting and construction phases.
• Ensure accuracy on technical issues while supporting design through strong technical input.

Position Overview

Project Manager / Senior Architect

We are seeking a talented, full-time Project Manager / Senior Architect to join our team. Our ideal candidate is a great designer, highly motivated, well-organized, thoughtful, and has experience working as part of a design team on large projects. The candidate should also have strong communication skills, enjoy collaborating with others, and be reliable, trustworthy, and detail-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Manage multiple aspects of client, project, and general contractor coordination, including full documentation coordination with Tighe Architecture’s design and engineering consultants
• Work as part of a team overseeing technical aspects of projects to ensure harmony with project scope, design, budget, client goals, consultant coordination and core requirements
• Lead design meetings and presentations with clients and stakeholders
• Perform design assignments across all phases: programming client needs, conceptual design, schematic design, design development, space planning, and construction documentation
• Prepare presentations, renderings, and other materials to elegantly convey design ideas
• Participate in the selection and presentation of FF&E, color palettes, and lighting
• Maintain project manuals and specifications
• Conduct and document on-site observations and process submittals, RFI’s, substitution requests, etc. during construction
• Interface with local building and permitting officials during the permitting and construction phases of projects
• Ensure accuracy on technical and other project-related issues while enhancing design through strong technical support

Skills / Requirements

• Professional degree in Architecture from an accredited school
• 5-15 years of relevant professional experience
• Registered Architect preferred, but not required
• Proficiency in Revit is required; familiarity with Rhino, Bluebeam, Enscape, and the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) also expected
• Strong organizational, time management, and prioritization skills with attention to detail
• Ability to lead and direct multiple design teams and projects during different phases
• Must be able to work locally at our L.A. office with authorization to work in the United States

Desired Experience

• Experience as a project architect with a strong background in commercial towers and multifamily / mixed-use projects
• Direct project experience working within Los Angeles building standards and regulations
• Strong experience in building codes, local permitting, entitlement process, and building construction
• Experience managing multiple aspects of client, team, and project coordination, including full documentation coordination with design and engineering consultants
