Job summary

TerraForm Power seeks a Project Manager, Repower to lead end-to-end repowering projects across our wind, solar and storage portfolio. You will manage planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning and closeout, coordinating with Engineering, Operations, HSSE, Finance, Development, Procurement and Legal.

You bring hands-on project management in renewable energy or power generation, with multiple stakeholders and strong communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business, or related field.
• Typically 5 years of related project management, operations construction or engineering experience.
• Experience in renewable energy (wind preferred; solar, storage, or power generation a plus).
• Exposure to repower projects or retrofit/upgrade work is highly desirable.
• PMI/PMI-PMP or similar certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage repower projects through full lifecycle from planning to closeout.
• Coordinate engineering consultants, OEMs, and construction contractors to ensure delivery.
• Monitor progress against design specs, schedule, and budget; identify risks and implement mitigation.
• Develop scopes, schedules, budgets, and execution plans; support tendering and contract negotiations.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Director, Operations Project Management, the Project Manager, Repower is responsible for the end-to-end management and delivery of repowering projects across TerraForm Power’s renewable energy portfolio (primarily wind, with exposure to solar and storage as applicable).

This role will manage the full lifecycle of repower projects, from early-stage planning and engineering through construction execution and closeout. The Project Manager works cross-functionally with Engineering, Operations, HSSE, Finance, Development, Procurement and Legal, as well as external consultants, OEMs and contractors, to deliver projects safely, on schedule and within budget.

The successful candidate brings hands-on project management experience in renewable energy or power generation, with the ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders and navigate high-impact, large-scale investment project environments.

Travel: Approximately 25%-50% depending on project needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Execution & Delivery
  • Manage repower projects from through the full project lifecycle, including planning, engineering, procurement, construction, commissioning, and closeout
  • Coordinate engineering consultants, OEMs, and construction contractors to ensure successful project delivery
  • Monitor construction activities against design specifications, contractual requirements, schedule, quality standards and budget
  • Proactively identify project risks, issues and opportunities and develop and implement appropriate mitigation or corrective actions Identify opportunities for improvement and efficiency that lead to improved project outcomes
• Planning, Procurement & Contracting
  • Develop and maintain project scopes, schedules, budgets and execution plans
  • Prepare and support tendering processes, including bid evaluation and contractor selection
  • Partner with Procurement and Legal teams on contract negotiations (EPC, supply agreements, etc.)
  • Manage project costs, commitments, forecasts and change orders within established approval authorities
• Cross-Functional Coordination
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Engineering, Operations, HSSE, Finance, and Development
  • Support development of business cases and capital planning for repower investments
  • Coordinate with site teams to align construction activities with ongoing operations
  • Lead projects through successful handover to Operations
• Health, Safety & Environmental (HSSE)
  • Promote a strong safety culture across all project activities.
  • Ensure all contractors comply with TerraForm Power’s HSSE policies, project requirements and applicable regulatory requirements
  • Participate in safety meetings, job hazard analyses, and field observations and other project safety activities
• Project Oversight & Reporting
  • Conduct site visits and field inspections to monitor construction progress, safety, quality and compliance with project requirements
  • Lead or participate in pre-construction and progress meetings
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc project reporting covering safety, schedule, cost, risk, and opportunity
  • Evaluate and monitor contractor performance throughout project lifecycle and provide feedback/direction as required
• Additional Responsibilities
  • Support technical due diligence for repower and M&A opportunities
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of project management processes
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

• Solid understanding of construction and project management principles
• Ability to manage high-impact, large-scale investment projects with multiple stakeholders
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills across technical and non-technical teams
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to evaluate project risks and develop practical solutions
• Experience successfully managing contractors, vendors, and consultants

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, business or related field preferred, or equivalent relevant experience
• Typically 5 years of related project management, operations construction or engineering experience
• Experience in renewable energy (wind preferred; solar, BESS, or power generation a plus)
• Exposure to repower projects or retrofit/upgrade work is highly desirable
• Familiarity with construction practices, permitting, and regulatory requirements
• Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management tools

Base salary: $103,000 to $124,000. Bonus eligible. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including relevant experience, geographic location, internal equity, and alignment with the responsibilities and requirements of the role.
