Job summary

White Cap seeks a seasoned project manager to oversee rebar projects from setup to completion in a dynamic environment.

You will manage contract details, schedules, fabrication coordination, and delivery, ensuring alignment with client expectations and budget constraints. Strong communication and reading structural drawings are essential; travel modestly may be required. This role requires BS/BA in a related field and 5–8 years of experience; certification may be required in some areas.

Responsibilities

• Provide total contract management of each project assigned, including coordination of detailing, scheduling, delivery and costs of products and services.
• Oversee the customer and project team in establishing sequential steps involved in all processes and adapt schedules accordingly.
• Communicate with customers regarding project details involving detailing, fabrication and delivery issues.
• Review rebar shop drawings and direct the revision of drawings as needed.
• Schedule the detailing and delivery of required products and services with the contractor, detailers, and production team.
• Answer customer questions related to assigned projects and resolve problems.
• Perform special projects and complete other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Responsible for overseeing the execution of rebar projects from the set-up phase through completion.

Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities

• Provide total contract management of each project assigned, including coordination of the detailing, scheduling, delivery and costs of products and services.
• Oversee the customer and project team in establishing the sequential steps involved in all processes with the scope of the project and adapt schedules and work tasks accordingly.
• Communicate with customers regarding project details involving detailing, fabrication and delivery issues.
• Review rebar shop drawings and direct the revision of drawings as needed.
• Schedule the detailing and delivery of required products and services with the contractor, detailers, and production team.
• Answer customer questions related to assigned projects and resolve any problems that may occur.
• Perform special projects and complete all other duties as assigned or requested for the support of the organization.

Nature and Scope

• Identifies key barriers/core problems and applies problem solving skills in order to deal creatively with complex situations. Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems. Makes decisions under conditions of uncertainty, sometimes with incomplete information, that produce effective end results.
• Independently performs assignments with instruction limited to the expected results. Determines and develops an approach to solutions. Receives technical guidance only on unusual or complex problems or issues.
• May oversee the completion of projects and assignments, including planning, assigning, monitoring and reviewing progress and accuracy of work, evaluating results, etc. Contributes to employees’ professional development but does not have hiring or firing authority.

Work Environment

• Typically located in a comfortable indoor area. There may be regular exposure to mild physical discomfort from factors, such as dust, fumes or odors, temperature extremes, loud noise, strong drafts, or bright lights.
• Frequent periods are spent standing or sitting in the same location with some opportunity to move about. Occasionally there may be a requirement to stoop or lift light material or equipment (typically less than 8 pounds).
• Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.

Education and Experience

• Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally 5-8 years of experience in a related field OR MS/MA and generally 3-5 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineer, Construction Management, related degree and/or equivalent work experience.
• 2 + years of project management experience and 1 + year of construction project management experience.
• Basic knowledge of AutoCad or MicroStation.
• Ability to read & understand structural & architectural drawings.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills combined with the ability to meet deadlines and mult-task in fast-paced environment.
