Requirements

Proficient – 10+ years of relevant experience as a Project Manager II; direct experience with Georgia Power or similar electric utility in Georgia highly preferred.

  • Knowledge – project management methodologies, industry standards, city, state, federal regulations, Microsoft suite, Vantagepoint, Smartsheet, and quality management.
  • Skills – leadership, communication, time, risk, quality, financial management, negotiation, problem‑solving.
  • Ability – strategic thinking, prioritization, delegation, collaboration, accuracy.
Complexity & Decision‑Making Authority
  1. Responsible for success of moderate to large scope projects. Must be listed as a Project Manager in Vantagepoint and manage direct invoicing and billing to clients.
  2. Independently perform assignments and reach out for critical decisions to supervisor.
Responsibilities
  1. Financial Management
    • Track weekly budgets, project reports, A/R, and staff utilization; discuss utilization with Senior Project Manager(s).
    • Prepare scope of work (SOW), LOE, schedules; handle out‑of‑scope requests and propose additional authorizations.
    • Collect invoices from clients and pursue past‑due payments.
  2. Corporate Compliance & Risk Assessment
    • Complete contract/subcontract reviews, filing, and signature matrix protocol.
    • Review initial contract terms, propose modifications (indemnification, standard of care, insurance, warranty, payment terms).
    • Understand contract payment terms, fees, negotiation strategies.
    • Follow QA/QC process and safety plans.
    • Identify preclusions for pursuits and teaming opportunities.
  3. Communication & Collaboration
    • Ensure clear, actionable communication across departments, disciplines, regions, and corporate resources.
    • Articulate project requirements, timelines, deliverables, and corporate directives.
    • Document meeting minutes and distribute to stakeholders.
    • Assist marketing with RFQs, proposals, interview prep, and teaming.
    • Draft project approaches for RFQ submissions.
  4. Client & Internal Satisfaction
    • Maintain project schedules; inform clients of delays and mitigation plans.
    • Respond promptly, anticipate needs, resolve complex issues, ensure post‑resolution satisfaction.
    • Build professional rapport with multiple clients.
  5. People Development
    • Provide performance feedback to management for reviews and recruiting.
    • Delegate, train, mentor junior staff and entry‑level project managers.
  6. Technical
    • a. Work on engineering conclusions, wire/cable and transformer sizing, field staking, ruling span calculations, best design practices, fuse coordination, material development, pole loading analysis, property/ROW considerations, technical specifications, systems master planning, PS&E creation, TxDOT reimbursement, and P&P review.
    • b. Use O‑Calc, Pole Foreman knowledge, and client‑specific software.

Physical & Cognitive Requirements

Most work performed in a professional office; occasional client office trips and outdoor observations required.

  • Seated and standing; extended periods at workstation.
  • Mobility within office and job sites, navigating uneven surfaces.
  • Neck movement while using multiple screens.
  • Repetitive finger movements for computer usage.
  • Arm movements overhead, below waist, forward, and lateral.
  • Object handling, lifting, carrying.
  • Cognitive: selective attention, oral and written comprehension, problem sensitivity, deductive and inductive reasoning, numerical facility, categorization, fluency, originality.
  • Office conditions: extensive use of computers, printers, copiers, scanners, plotters, telephones.
  • Outdoor conditions: uneven surfaces, confined spaces, extreme weather, noise, allergens.
  • Safety: PPE and hand/power tool use required.
  • Driving: potential use of large pickup trucks, trailers, watercraft.
Expected Work Hours
  • Full‑time, 40 hours per week; overtime possible.
  • Standard hours Monday‑Friday, 7:30 AM–4:30 PM CST; lunch break 1 hour unpaid.
Work Location Flexibility
  • Eligible for hybrid schedule after training period.
