Your impact

Here at Jacobs, we use innovative solutions to change the world. Our Ports & Maritime business is leading transformative projects that enhance resiliency, sustainability, and connectivity across the region’s waterfronts. Bring your curiosity, ambitious spirit and your talent for multi-tasking along with a collaborative attitude and together we will help you grow, pursue, and fulfill what drives you – so we can make big impacts on the world, together. Our New England based team specifically focuses on:

  • Asset Management and Rehabilitation Design
  • Development of Urban and Working Waterfronts
  • Electrification & Decarbonization of Port Infrastructure.

We’re seeking passionate professionals who thrive in collaborative environments and want to make a lasting impact.

Our team in Boston is looking for a Project Manager with a strong background in design and construction. While the role supports our waterfront market, candidates with experience in bridges, civil works, and other civil engineering fields have been successful in this role and are encouraged to apply.

In addition to managing the project financials, delivery, and client relationships, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our multi-disciplinary team of engineers, planners, architects, and scientists to deliver complex projects across the region. You will develop and implement project execution plans for managing schedules, budgets, and deliverables and identify and mitigate project risks, implementing corrective actions as necessary. You will be expected to interface with clients and subconsultants, give presentations and work on technical proposals to ensure project objectives are achieved.

This position provides excellent growth opportunity and professional visibility as part of a world class ports and maritime practice. It is an ideal fit for an engineer with a strong technical background who can manage on-call task orders and has the desire and skillset to be increasingly client facing.

Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil Engineering or related engineering field from an ABET accredited university or college
  • Professional Engineer (PE) License in a New England State (or ability to apply for reciprocity) or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • Ability to guide and mentor engineers on design procedures and quality management
  • Good communication skills and ability to interface with clients and stakeholders, both internal and external
  • Strong proposal and technical writing skills
  • Seller-doer mentality. A self-starter who can look for solutions, get things done and keep projects moving forward.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.

Our health and welfare benefits are designed to invest in you, and in the things you care about. Your health. Your well-being. Your security. Your future. Employees have access to medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance, a 401(k) plan, and the ability to purchase company stock at a discount. Eligible employees may also enroll in a deferred compensation plan or the Executive Deferral Plan. Jacobs has an unlimited U.S. Personalized Paid Time Off (PPTO) policy for full-time salaried/exempt employees, seven paid holidays, and caregiver leave. And certain roles may be eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, performance discretionary bonus, and stock.

The base salary range for this position is $90,000.00 to $150,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or protected veteran status.

Job posted on March 18, 2026. This position will be open for at least 3 days.

We value collaboration and believe that in-person interactions are crucial for both our culture and client delivery. We empower employees with our hybrid working policy, allowing them to split their work week between Jacobs offices/projects and remote locations enabling them to deliver their best work.

Your application experience is important to us, and we’re keen to adapt to make every interaction even better. If you require further support or reasonable adjustments with regards to the recruitment process (for example, you require the application form in a different format), please contact the team via Careers Support.
