Job description

SUMMARY

Mortenson is currently seeking a Project Manager of Project Solutions responsible for coordinating, assisting, training, and continuously improving the day‑to‑day function of our project control processes used by Mortenson project teams. This role blends strong construction knowledge with technology delivery – configuring, supporting, and improving project workflows. This role will also help identify, pilot, and operationalize AI‑enabled capabilities within our project‑facing systems (e.g. Procore, Datagrid, Clearstory, Build Cognition, Bridgit, etc).

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide support and training for all processes and tools used by the project team via ad‑hoc consultations, webinars, written documentation and on‑demand video education.
  • Configure, support, and continuously improve our project‑facing systems to align with standard project delivery process and procedures.
  • Identify high‑value AI opportunities embedded in system workflows (e.g. automated metadata tagging, process summarization, search, and issue trend detection).
  • Partner with Data & AI functions to translate field problems into AI requirements (inputs/outputs, acceptance criteria, guardrails, and team member‑in‑the‑loop steps).
  • Support AI development efforts by contributing construction subject matter expert input, building and labeling sample datasets, defining evaluation scenarios, and validating results with end users.
  • Support AI operations by helping establish monitoring and continuous‑improvement loops: user feedback capture, quality reviews, drift/exception identification, and refresh/re‑train triggers as workflows and documents evolve.
  • Coordinate rollout and change management for AI features, including training, communications, and documentation of "how to use" and "when not to use" guidance.
  • Translate field needs into workable configurations, standard operating procedures, and trainings that reduce friction for teams.
  • Assist with evaluation, prioritization, selection, testing, piloting, and implementation of emerging technologies from project teams.
  • Monitor and evaluate software utilization to optimize efficiency of the tools.
  • Challenge the status quo to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of operational systems to achieve operational excellence at the project site.
  • Recommend new technology and processes that will improve project team performance and efficiency and/or provide a competitive advantage to operations.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the talents of team members.
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels.
  • All other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Business, Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, or equivalent field preferred.
  • Preferred 5 years’ experience within the construction technology industry.
  • Experience executing construction Project Management Control Processes.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills; comfortable working directly with field teams and project leadership.
  • Analytical mindset with experience using data to drive process improvements.
  • Interest or experience in AI/Automation (e.g. copilots, prompt‑based workflows, document intelligence, classification, summarization, or workflow automation) and curiosity to test new approaches responsibly.
  • Overall understanding of the following construction project management concepts: Project Financial Management, Contract Management, Project controls & document management systems, and general Construction Jobsite Technology Management.
  • Familiar with Lean principles and techniques as well as data governance concepts (privacy, security, access controls) and disciplined change management.
  • Strong teamwork orientation and ability to influence others internally and externally.
  • Proficient in analysis, prioritization, and implementation of project solution initiatives.
  • Positive attitude and professional customer service skills.
  • Proactive thinking and innovative mindset.
  • Strong leadership, problem solving, initiative, lean, and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a cross‑functional, collaborative, team‑based environment with a variety of teams.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; presentation experience is a plus.
  • Active listening skills and effective communication including an openness to diverse input and feedback.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, SharePoint, Teams, and other Office365 tools.
  • Experience in construction industry technology platforms, such as: Procore, Autodesk, and Bluebeam. Ideal candidate must have the ability to understand system administration.
A few benefits offered include
  • Medical and prescription drug plans that include no additional cost vision coverage.
  • Dental plan.
  • 401(k) retirement plan with a generous Mortenson match.
