Job summary

Associated Universities, Inc (AUI) is seeking a Project Manager to lead NRAO project management activities onsite in Albuquerque, NM. The role supports observatory operations and development with travel to Socorro as needed, roughly 10% domestic travel.

The position requires a relevant engineering/scientific background, PMP-like capabilities, and a proactive approach to improving processes and project controls within a renowned research environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, computational, or scientific field.
• At least one year of experience as a project manager.
• Experience with core PM responsibilities: risk management, scheduling, process engineering, testing, quality and product assurance, reporting, budgeting.

Responsibilities

• Lead all project management tasks for assigned projects.
• Optimize resources, determine scheduling priorities, coordinate components for best outcome.
• Provide written periodic progress reports with KPIs and milestones.
• Provide periodic budget reports and forecasts.
• Lead project teams through gate reviews.
• Coordinate with all levels of project teams and stakeholders.
• Increase efficiency of observatory staff to prepare proposals and manage projects.
