Hatch currently has an Intermediate to Senior PM role available to support our Nuclear business unit to be based out of the Hatch Office in Pittsburgh. Responsible for managing, coordinating and administering the project (or portfolio of projects) during all delivery stages of the project lifecycle: from project definition, setup, execution, monitoring and controlling to final closing out of the project. Overall, responsible to deliver the project and/or portfolio of projects within the scope, cost and schedule baseline, and ensure that the project is delivered within the safety, quality and environmental best practices set out by Hatch and the client for the project.

Reports to: Regional Director, Project Management & Construction Delivery

Key Responsibilities

  • Display and actively promote behavior aligned to Hatch’s goal of achieving a total safety culture.
  • Act as a mentor for the implementation of Hatch safety standards to contractors.
  • Develop and obtain sign-off from client on Project Execution Plan (PEP) and Client’s Requirement Specification.
  • Develop and resource an appropriate organization structure, and ensure the entire project team has the required resources for the work.
  • Provide leadership to the project and create a highly committed and aligned team environment with all who can influence the project’s outcomes.
  • Ensure governance on the project, specifically compliance to Hatch and client delegations of authority, procedures and policies, project reviews.
  • Authorize all commitments of expenditure on the project (subject to agreed delegation), and approve payment of invoices, manage claims responses and settlement processes.
  • Develop a detailed scope, cost and schedule control baseline, and manage any project changes in terms of this agreed control baseline.
  • Obtain client’s acceptance of the work and sign-off for the completed project. Prepare and submit the final project close out report, and ensure prompt closeout of the prime contract.
  • Establish and manage the invoicing process with the client, to ensure invoices are delivered with the relevant backup for timely payment.
  • Ensure compliance with the project Environmental and Safety Management Plan.
  • Maintain strong communications with the client and the project team.

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree in engineering or other relevant discipline.
  • Experience with systems including steam turbine generator (STG), Steam Generator (SG), Generator step-up and Auxiliary Transformers.
  • Experience in thermal (simple cycle and combined cycle) and distributed generation markets is desired.
  • Utility scale power project management experience.
  • Projects involving traditional generation technologies (gas fired engines/turbines/boilers, combined heat and power systems) as well as renewables (solar/wind) and battery energy storage (Li-Ion/long duration).
  • 10 years experience in Project Management, with signature major project >$200M in construction/execution, ideally in Power Generation.
  • Greater than ten years’ experience in cross functional leadership roles in a project delivery environment. Ability to evaluate, understand, apply, grow, and mentor the Hatch team across Engineering, Document Management, Cost Control, Schedule, PSC, Commercial, Risk, Quality, Safety, Construction, etc.
  • Experience in managing multi-discipline projects. Broad knowledge of industry standards.
  • Project performance monitoring and reporting.

Preferred

  • Mechanical/Electrical, Civil, or Process engineering qualification.
  • Working knowledge of engineering, project control systems, Procurement/Contracting and construction management.
  • Business development skills, especially proposal lead experience.
  • Collaborate on exciting projects to develop innovative solutions
