Job summary

Olin is seeking a Project Manager – NGSW Equipping to lead complex programs from planning through completion at Independence, MO. The role requires defining objectives, managing schedules and budgets, coordinating internal teams and external partners, and ensuring requirements and quality standards are met throughout the lifecycle.

We require a Bachelor's degree in engineering/technical/business and 5+ years of relevant experience; PMP certification is preferred.

  • Serve as main liaison for stakeholders, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
  • Prepare reports and presentations for internal and external customers.
  • Identify risks and develop mitigation strategies; ensure quality and on-time delivery.

Title:Project Manager - NGSW Equipping (Next Generation Squad Weapon)
Location:Independence, MO

Salary: $106,800 - $138,800
Schedule:980 schedule

Relocation Available - preference will be given to local candidates.

Focus:We are seeking a Project Manager – NGSW Equipping (Next Generation Squad Weapon) to lead complex projects from planning through successful completion. This role will define project objectives, manage schedules and budgets, coordinate internal teams and external partners, and ensure project requirements and quality standards are achieved throughout the project life cycle.

Project ManagerEssential Job Functions:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans, including defining the project scope, objectives, deliverables, cost proposals, and timelines.
  • Accurately forecast project costs and schedules both as part of the proposal process and during regular financial forecasting activities.
  • Allocate resources efficiently, ensuring the right team members are assigned to tasks, and manage budgets to keep projects within financial constraints.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for stakeholders, providing regular updates, managing expectations, and addressing concerns to ensure alignment and satisfaction.
  • Prepare and present reports and presentations for both internal and external customers.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to address them, ensuring projects stay on track despite challenges.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, implementing quality control measures to ensure deliverables meet the required standards and specifications.

Project ManagerMinimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree* in an Engineering, Technical, or Business-related field.
  • 5+ years recent relevant experience.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience working in a small or medium caliber ammunition manufacturing facility or with energetics preferred
  • Prior work with USG or Department of Defense customers preferred.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of preparing financial statements and or project proposals.
  • Some travel may be required, less than 10%.

Location-Specific Requirements:

  • Obtain/maintain a Department of Defense secret security clearance preferred.
  • Must possess a valid US driver's license
  • This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
  • This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
  • This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.S. Army and Department of Defense access policies. The US Government does not allow non-US citizens on-site at the Lake City Army Ammunition Plant. Therefore, to be considered in the hiring process, the candidate must be a US citizen.
