Tetra Tech is seeking a NEPA Project Manager in Arlington, VA, to lead environmental analyses in our DOE program. You will manage NEPA projects end-to-end, including authoring major documents and coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Responsibilities:

We are seeking a NEPA Project Manager to work with a team of environmental professionals from across the company to conduct environmental analyses and deliver quality documents supporting our Department of Energy (DOE) program under the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA). The successful candidate will be responsible for managing environmental and NEPA projects through all phases, from project kickoff through approval of final deliverables. The Project Manager will also be responsible as principal author of NEPA documentation including Site-wide Environmental Impact Statements (SWEIS), Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), Supplemental Analysis (SA) and Environmental Assessments (EA). Strong communication and writing skills are required. This role offers the opportunity to work with multidisciplinary teams on energy, infrastructure, environmental restoration, nuclear operations, and facility projects.

• Manage preparation of NEPA documentation, including EAs, EISs, and supporting technical studies.
• Technical expertise in one or more environmental resource discipline, including but not limited to human health, accident analysis, waste management, biological resources (ecology, wildlife, threatened and endangered species), water resources (including wetlands and waters of the U.S.), hazardous materials, cultural and historic resources, traffic, noise, and air quality. Resource tasks will include evaluating potential environmental impacts and writing technical reports.
• Plan, develop, coordinate, and manage multi-disciplined NEPA projects with internal and external team members. Develop project schedules and labor plans.
• Work closely with DOE/National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA) to develop project alternatives.
• Review and interpret highly technical reports on a variety of subjects (nuclear operations, air quality, cultural resources, biology, geology, hazardous materials, historic resources, hydrology, traffic, etc.) and summarize in non-technical language understandable to a lay person.
• Lead meetings as necessary with DOE/NNSA.
• Manage and develop technical staff.
• Contribute to business development activities, including developing and maintaining relationships with our DOE/NNSA clients, seeking opportunities to assist these clients with NEPA projects, and preparing proposals for such work.
• Conduct research on federal environmental regulations, DOE orders, and project requirements.
• Participate in quality reviews of technical documents and project deliverables.
• Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.
• Complete projects on time and within scope, budget and regulatory guidelines.
• Additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Science, or related engineering discipline.
• Master’s degree in relevant field is preferred
• 10+ years of experience managing NEPA projects and teams to scope, schedule, and budget. DOE experience preferred.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Strong experience with NEPA, including ability to manage projects, interdisciplinary teams, and workload, as well as interface successfully with Clients.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.

This position requires the candidate to be a U.S. Citizen due to the projects they will be working on.
