Job summary

DAHLIN Architecture | Planning | Interiors in San Diego, CA seeks an Architectural Project Manager for its Multifamily team. The role oversees budgets, schedules, scope, and client satisfaction across design development, construction documents, and administration.

The position is hybrid, requiring a minimum of three days onsite weekly. Candidates should have 5+ years coordinating projects, U.S. multifamily experience, and a professional architecture degree. Visa sponsorship is not offered.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years coordinating all project efforts through all phases of development including Schematic Design.
  • Experience with multifamily projects in the U.S.
  • Knowledge of U.S. building codes, permitting processes, and construction practices.
  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture (required).
  • Authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship.

  • Manage and coordinate all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure cost‑effective execution through all development phases.
  • Estimate fees, determine scope of work, prepare proposals and contracts, and monitor adherence to terms.
  • Manage client budgets, schedules, programs, communications, and project team assignments.
  • Serve as client contact liaison to bring schedule, budgets, and scope to client satisfaction.
  • Provide oversight and mentorship to less experienced staff.

We are currently seeking an energetic, confident, and highly motivated ARCHITECTURAL PROJECT MANAGER to join our Multifamily team in our San Diego, CA office. Qualified candidates will demonstrate experience in multifamily projects. This experienced professional will have full responsibility for proactively managing all aspects of exciting new projects, bringing the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.

This is a hybrid position, requiring a minimum of 3 days per week onsite at our San Diego, CA office.

What You Will Do
  • Manage and coordinate all project efforts, administrative and technical, to ensure the most efficient and cost‑effective execution of assigned projects through all phases of development, including Design Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
  • Estimate fees, determine scope of work, prepare proposals and contracts, and monitor adherence to terms.
  • Actively manage client budgets, schedules and programs, project communications, documentation, and project team assignments.
  • Serve as client contact liaison to bring the schedule, budgets, and scope of work to completion and to the client’s satisfaction.
  • Provide oversight and monitor the work of less experienced staff.
What You Will Bring
  • Substantial experience in using project management tools for project initiation, planning, billings, and tracking labor.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and collaborative skills.
  • Self‑confident; tenacious while maintaining positive working relationships with clients, outside consultants, and technical staff.
  • Ability to effectively and positively provide direction and lead architectural staff.
  • Strong skills and talent in SketchUp modeling, AutoCAD, and Revit/BIM.
Your Qualifications
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience coordinating all project efforts, administrative and technical, through all phases of development including Schematic Design.
  • Experience with multifamily projects.
  • Experience with Development, Construction Documents, and Construction Administration.
  • Bachelor or Master of Architecture (required).
  • Recent experience working on architectural projects within the United States.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of U.S. building codes, permitting processes, and construction practices.
  • Experience coordinating with U.S.-based clients, consultants, and regulatory agencies.
  • Commitment to professional growth.
  • Must be legally authorized to work for any employer in the United States without any restrictions. Visa sponsorship is not offered for this position.

We offer a competitive compensation package based on experience and qualifications. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, a pre‑tax Flexible Spending Plan, an Employee Stock Ownership Plan, and a 401(k). Salary range: $90,000–$120,000, depending on qualifications. Placement within this pay range will be determined by factors such as education, qualifications, project complexity, and/or experience.
