Schindler Elevator Corporation (U.S.) in San Francisco, CA, is hiring a Project Manager – Modernization (MOD) to lead installation and modernization projects, coordinate with sales, engineering, and field teams, and ensure timely, profitable outcomes.

You will manage submittals, material delivery, change orders, and invoicing, while developing strong client relationships and delivering high-quality elevator solutions that meet customer specifications and Schindler standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or minimum 3 years of technical or sales experience in elevator industry or related field.
• Prior project management experience preferred.
• 3+ years' leadership experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving, urgency, and communication skills.
• Ability to build and manage client relationships.
• Organized, dependable, and detail oriented.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Experience managing timelines, scheduling, and budgets.
• Proficient in MS Office & Excel.

Responsibilities

• Follow and manage new installation/modernization projects to ensure efficient and profitable close-out.
• Review and book projects within one week of award with a clear action plan.
• Provide approved submittals to Engineering and vendors; coordinate material delivery.
• Interface with Field Superintendent to track progress and manage dates.
• Seek change notices; prepare and forward change orders with signed confirmations.
• Ensure timely invoicing and payment to 90% before elevator turnover.
• Participate in professional development programs to enhance product knowledge.

Project Manager MOD

Your Main Responsibilities

Project Manager - Modernization (MOD)

As a Schindler Project Manager, the candidate's role will be to work with sales reps and customers to ensure specification are completely met; to work with Schindler superintendents and engineering to resolve technical problems; and, to work with local and region management to ensure high quality and financially successful installations/modernizations. This role is customer focused, and so the selected candidate must be able to connect with people and form outstanding customer relationships so as to advance Schindler's presence in the marketplace and ensure achievement of the organization's financial goals.

Essential Functions

• Follow and accurately manage new installation/modernization projects to ensure that projects close-out at the required efficiency and profitability levels
• Review and book projects within one (1) week of award, notifying the Manager if required completion dates cannot be met, and providing action plan and time frame for completion
• Provide approved submittals to Schindler Engineering and/or local vendors following project booking; coordinate and follow up with factory, local vendors and superintendent on the delivery of project material to ensure that all required material is ready prior to project start date
• Interface with the Field Superintendent to track job progress and notify manager if required completion dates cannot be met; provide action plan and time frame for completion
• Seek change notice opportunities; prepare all change order paperwork and forward to the customer in a timely manner; follow up on change orders, received signed change orders from the customer prior to any related work being completed
• Ensure timely invoicing and ensure projects are invoiced and paid to 90% before elevator turn over
• Participate in Company professional development programs to enhance working knowledge of Elevator Company products, services and procedures

What You Bring

• Bachelor's degree preferred or minimum 3 years of technical or sales experience in the elevator industry or related field
• Prior project management experience preferred
• 3+ years' experience in a leadership role preferred
• Solid problem-solving skills, high sense of urgency, strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient in building and managing client relationships
• Resourceful, well organized, highly dependable, efficient and detail oriented
• Excellent time management and organizational skills
• Experience managing timelines, scheduling, and budgets
• Excellent computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office & Excel

Base Salary $113,400 - $141,700

The above represents the typical salary range for this position. Revisions to the range may be considered based on your experience, education, location, demonstrated skills, and alignment with business priorities. Please note that the compensation listed reflects only base salary and does not include commissions or longer-term incentives.
