Job summary

Batson-Cook Construction is seeking a Project Manager I or II to join our team for a Mission Critical/Data Center project in the Alexandria area. This role focuses on leading project controls, coordinating subcontractors, and driving execution safely and on schedule.

You will manage change control, cost reporting, pre-construction support, and scheduling while communicating with clients and suppliers. Travel may be required as project needs demand; you’ll mentor staff and uphold the company

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required or equivalent
• 5–10 years related experience or training
• Experience with project controls, cost tracking, scheduling

Responsibilities

• Drive and implement Change Management Processes (log, review, notifications)
• Manage cost control: monthly reports, cash flow, budget, pay apps
• Provide input and supervise pre-construction activities (POs, subcontracts, schedules)
• Assist in estimating/pre-construction: scope review, bid participation
• Monitor and update project schedule, identify delays, communicate impacts
• Review proposals to determine time frame, staffing and resource allotment
• Supervise personnel, subs, and suppliers; provide feedback
• Willingness to travel as required
• Communicate with customers, suppliers and teams; maintain relationships

Position

We are currently seeking a Project Manager I or II to join our family. The initial assignment would be Mission Critical/Data Center project in the Alexandria area.

• Drive and implement Change Management Process (e.g. Log, Review, Notifications, Document Management, Issue Subcontractor Changes, Status Tracking)
• Manage Cost Control (e.g. Monthly Project Management Reports, Project Cash Flow, Budget, Owner/Subcontractor Pay Application)
• Provide input and supervise all pre-construction services such as purchase orders, subcontract, schedules, job cost set-up and project pre-planning
• Assist in the Project Estimating/Pre-Construction Process (e.g. Scope Review, Bid Day participation, Generate schematic/design development budgets)
• Monitor and update project schedule routinely. Track critical path and address potential problems immediately, documenting any real and potential delays. Identify impact of changes to schedule and notify appropriate parties
• Review project proposal or plan to determine time frame, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project
• Supervise and/or manage employees, subcontractor, and/or suppliers in the area of responsibility by giving direction, monitoring performance and providing feedback
• Must be willing to travel if required
• Communicate with (or to) individuals or groups verbally and/or in writing (e.g. customers, suppliers, employees). Maintain relationship to ensure needs are met and problems/conflicts are resolved.

Qualifications

• Preferred Qualification — Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university and 5-10 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
