Job summary

Woolpert is seeking a Project Manager for its Mission Critical Project Management team, aligned with offices in Chicago, IL, New York, NY and/or Pittsburgh, PA, with full-time in-person, hybrid, and remote arrangements.

The role focuses on managing cross-functional teams, ensuring deliverable quality, managing scope and budgets, and maintaining strong client relationships on large-scale, mission-critical projects. Travel to local and national clients is required.

Qualifications

• Active professional registration in architecture or engineering is preferred.
• 5+ years of experience in architectural, engineering, or construction industries required.
• PMP certification preferred.
• Experience in mission-critical or data center environments (≈400,000 sq ft) strongly preferred.
• Experience with multi-disciplinary projects including mission-critical facilities (airports, hospitals, major terminals, semiconductor facilities).
• Willingness to travel for local, regional, and national clients/projects.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to the overall cross-functional project team.
• Assist with the quality of deliverables (fee plans, work plans, risk mitigation plans, contracts).
• Resolve issues impacting project objectives.
• Support scope and budget/pricing development for proposals and dynamic project planning.
• Manage client relationships and support business development.
• Act as key internal contact for communication and track plan vs. actual performance.
• Promote Woolpert as an industry leader for mission-critical practice and services.
• Negotiate schedule, fee, scope and contract terms for complex projects.
• Identify and resolve project issues affecting client goals/satisfaction.
• Define and communicate client needs and expectations.
• Ensure continuous stakeholder communications with clients and managers.

Position Overview

Woolpert is seeking a Project Manager for our Mission Critical Project Management team. This position would be aligned with our offices located in Chicago, IL, New York, NY and/or Pittsburgh, PA and would support full-time in-person/hybrid, and remote working arrangements.

What You Will Do:

• Contribute to the overall cross-functional project team.
• Assist with the quality of deliverables prepared by team members, including, but not limited to, fee plans, work plans, risk mitigation plans, and contracts.
• Resolve issues impacting project objectives.
• Support team in scope and budget/pricing development for proposals and dynamic project planning.
• Client relationships and business development in support of strategic business plan.
• Act as key point of internal contact for communication. Identify plan vs. actual performance variances.
• Promotes SNHA, A Woolpert Company and parent company Woolpert as an industry leader for mission critical practice and service(s) with new and existing clients.
• Project Managers to work with Market Leads in negotiation of project schedule, fee, scope and contract terms for complex, multidiscipline projects.
• Identify, address and resolve any project issues impacting client goals, objectives and/or client satisfaction.
• Defines and communicates client needs and expectations.
• Ensures continuous stakeholder (client, client’s manager, etc.) communications addressing, resolving and anticipating project issues

What You Will Bring:

• Active Professional Registration (Licensed Architect or Licensed Engineer) is desired
• Minimum of 5 years related Architectural, Engineering, or Construction industry experience required
• PMP Certification preferred
• Experience in mission-critical or data center environments, or projects of equivalent complexity and scale (approximately 400,000 square feet), are strongly preferred.
• Ideal candidate will have experience with multi-disciplinary projects including mission-critical, such as airports, healthcare facilities, large transportation terminals, semiconductor facilities, or projects of equivalent complexity and scale
• Strong understanding of project management fundamentals and ability to facilitate technical discussions when needed
• Demonstrated leadership skills and ability to negotiate, influence and manage risk
• Be able to effectively communicate in both internal and external relationships for all essential job functions
• Be able to make sound decisions/recommendations based on the evaluation and synthesis of project information and data
• Must be able to travel for local, regional, and national clients and projects
