Pay Points: 702

Salary Range: $103,523 to $140,942

Summary

The Project Manager oversees capital project delivery within the MTA Construction and Development (C&D) Delivery Department’s Long Island Railroad Business Unit. Responsibilities include managing project activities to ensure safety, efficiency, timeliness, budget adherence, and compliance with project documents, contractual requirements, policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.

The role involves monitoring project status, mitigating risks, resolving issues, and advising senior management. The Project Manager coordinates activities with C&D and operating agency personnel, managing staff, contractors, consultants, and agency forces to ensure safe and efficient project execution.

Responsibilities
  • Manage and mentor staff to deliver complex capital projects.
  • Coordinate project activities through to completion.
  • Monitor performance against baselines and seek improvements.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks and issues.
  • Advise senior management on critical issues.
  • Minimize impacts on agency operations and the public.
  • Coordinate with project teams and stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with standards, regulations, and safety protocols.
  • Develop and monitor project and quality plans.
  • Manage project documentation and reporting.
  • Oversee project scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Collaborate on project scope, design, procurement, and contractor evaluation.
  • Review and approve invoices and charges.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Lead staff recruitment, coaching, and evaluation.
  • Foster a respectful and inclusive professional environment.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration, Transportation, or related field.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience.
  • PE or RA license preferred; PMP and CCM certifications are a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Oracle, and business administration.
