Job summary

Nucor Corporation in Lexington, NC, is seeking a seasoned supervisor to oversee a team of Project Managers serving the Carolinas. You will schedule project management services, coordinate detailing with vendors, and ensure work is properly managed, detailed and aligned with customers.

The role requires a CAD drafting certificate, 5+ years as a Rebar Project Manager, and experience with NRF detailing systems.

Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Vocational CAD design/drafting certificate from an accredited school or college.
• At least 5 years of experience as a Rebar Project Manager with NRF detailing system.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety policies, practices, and housekeeping standards are upheld at all times.
• Oversee productivity and quality of Project Manager work to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and quality.
• Maintain oversight of contacts between Project Managers and customers' offices or job sites to keep delivery information accurate.
• Provide feedback during performance reviews and recommend salary adjustments to the Sales Service Supervisor.
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orientation and training of new Project Manager teammates.
• Keep abreast of technological developments in detailing methods/equipment and advise management accordingly.
• Produce reports as requested by management.
• Perform other duties as required by Sales Service Supervisor.

Basic Job Functions

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

This position will be located at the Lexington, NC branch and travel to other NRF divisions as required

PURPOSE: To provide supervisory oversight for a group of Project Managers, schedule the project management services for the Carolinas in conjunction with the Detailing Lead so that work assigned is properly managed, detailed and coordinated with customers. Coordinate outside detailing requirements and contracts with vendors (if necessary). Advise teammates and ensure performance standards are being met.

• Must adhere to Nucor Rebar Fabrication's safety programs and standards.
• Demonstrate conduct consistent with Nucor Rebar Fabrication's vision and values.
• Oversee the productivity and quality of Project Manager work so that it is done efficiently, accurately and with quality.
• Maintain oversight of the contacts between Project Managers and customers' offices or job sites so that accurate information regarding delivery requirements is always at hand and problems can be resolved or avoided.
• Provide feedback during performance review process and recommend appropriate salary adjustments to the Sales Service Supervisor
• Assist with recruiting, interviewing, hiring, orientation and training of new Project Manager teammates
• Keep apprised of any technological developments in the methods of detailing and equipment used and make appropriate recommendations to management so that Nucor Rebar Fabrication can execute project management/detailing as efficiently and effectively as possible.
• Produce reports as requested by management.
• Perform other duties as required by Sales Service Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications

• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now or in the future.
• Vocational certificate in CAD design/drafting issued from an accredited school or college or equivalent
• At least 5 years of experience as a Rebar Project Manager with at least 2 years of experience with the Nucor Rebar Fabrication detailing system.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to apply ACI codes and CRSI standard required
• Experience in customer relations and resolving problems or disputes
• A basic knowledge of contract law, standard business practices and human relations
• Effective communicator

SPECIAL DEMANDS

• Occasional overtime work required
• Travel between NRF Divisions and jobsites
• Must maintain strict confidentiality regarding personnel situations and certain customer and management information
