Job summary

Foth is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to lead engineer-led design-build projects in the industrial wastewater sector. You will oversee from proposal development through close-out, balancing budgets, schedules and client satisfaction.

The role emphasizes team leadership, safety, quality, and collaborative problem-solving. Remote applicants open to travel, with Midwest offices preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in construction, design, or project management with a proven track record of delivering complex projects valued $5M–$50M+
• Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and resource management
• Prior experience with estimating, construction methods, and project management technology

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with project directors to respond to RFPs and prepare proposals
• Engage in design reviews, monitor progress, manage scope and cost adjustments
• Develop detailed estimates, cost codes, and cost control systems
• Develop scopes of work and manage procurement and bids
• Establish project organization, staffing plans, and schedules with superintendents
• Direct project schedules, lead site meetings, ensure permit/compliance
• Drive cash flow through invoicing and collections; manage change orders
• Monitor safety and quality; address subcontractor performance issues
• Mentor construction personnel and support performance management
• Lead project close-out activities and warranty work
• Travel as needed to support project delivery

Primary Responsibilities

• Proposal Development: Collaborate with project directors to respond to RFPs. Prepare conceptual estimates, schedules, and proposal documents. Participate in client presentations
• Design Coordination: Engage in design reviews, provide constructability insights, monitor design progress, and manage scope and cost adjustments
• Estimating & Cost Control: Develop and manage detailed estimates, cost codes, and cost control systems to keep projects on budget
• Procurement Management: Develop comprehensive scopes of work for inclusion in bid packages. Support the solicitation and evaluation of competitive bids, ensuring thorough analysis and alignment with project goals. Assess and qualify subcontractors, recommend contract awards, and assist in coordinating major purchase orders to ensure timely and cost-effective procurement
• Project Planning: Establish project organization, staffing plans, and schedules in partnership with superintendents and subcontractors
• Execution Oversight: Direct project schedules, lead site meetings, update timelines, and ensure compliance with governing authorities for permits and inspections
• Financial Management: Drive cash flow through invoicing and collections, manage change orders, and oversee subcontractor and vendor payments
• Performance & Quality: Monitor progress, safety, and quality standards. Address subcontractor performance issues and implement corrective actions as needed
• Team Development: Mentor construction personnel, support performance management, and foster professional growth
• Close-Out: Lead project close-out activities and warranty work to ensure client satisfaction
• Travel: Ability to travel as needed and align with our vision of engineer-led design-build project delivery

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• 10+ years of experience in construction, design, or project management with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects valued between $5 million and $50 million or more
• Experience with budgeting, scheduling, and resource management
• Prior experience with estimating, construction methods, and project management technology

Preferred Qualifications

• Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)
• Masters Degree in Construction Management
• AACE (estimating certification)

$110,000 - $170,000 a year

The base compensation range for this position is included in this job posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors such as relevant experience, geographic location, scope and level of responsibility, and applicable licenses or certifications. In addition to base compensation, eligible members may participate in Foth’s Earned Performance Incentive program and may receive other discretionary bonuses, including On-the-Spot recognition awards. Exempt members may also be eligible for quarterly and/or annual incentive opportunities, where applicable.
