Job summary

Impact Automation, Inc. is seeking an experienced Project Manager for industrial construction and materials handling projects in Columbia, MD. The role oversees projects from concept through closeout, coordinating with engineering, procurement, and field teams to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.

You will lead multi-disciplinary meetings, review drawings and schedules, manage risks, and maintain strong client and stakeholder communication. Travel and flexible hours are required as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience required.
• 5+ years PM experience in construction/industrial machinery.
• Proficiency with PM tools, scheduling software, and Excel budgeting.
• Familiarity with electrical schematics & mechanical drawings.
• Strong verbal and written communication.
• Ability to travel, work weekends/holidays/overtime.

Responsibilities

• Oversee end-to-end project management, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
• Lead and facilitate project meetings - internal and external - through kick-off to project closeout.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to review drawings, documentation packages, and schedules.
• Monitor technical installations and address challenges on-site.
• Evaluate and manage project risks, providing timely updates to stakeholders.
• Handle client communication professionally, including off-hours calls if necessary.
• Drive purchasing decisions for project components based on BOM and schematics.
• Ensure scope changes are approved and documented.

• Familiarity with electrical schematics and mechanical drawings
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to build relationships across teams, customers, and vendors
• Detail-oriented mindset with excellent organizational skills
• Must be able to travel, work weekends, holidays and overtime as needed

Physical Requirements
