Job summary

ARCO/Murray National Construction in Chicago, IL, seeks a Project Manager for our Industrial team. You will lead preconstruction through closeout on design/build light- to mid-industrial projects, coordinating with clients and design teams to develop concepts and budgets.

The ideal candidate has 2–5 years in construction management or engineering design, and proficiency with MS Office and MS Project. We offer ESOP, 401(k), relocation, tuition reimbursement, and generous time off.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering or related field.
  • 2-5 years' construction management or engineering design experience.
  • Experience leading ground up commercial, light industrial, multi-family, hospitality, or entertainment construction projects preferred.
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Work with clients and design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget.
  • Participate in proposal meetings to review scope, reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees.
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors.
  • Identify opportunities to procure material or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to budget or schedule.
  • Work with Project Superintendent on subcontractor scopes, schedule, and site logistics plan.
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with designers, subcontractors and vendors to solve constructability/sequence/manpower issues.
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly on-site meetings to review progress and address challenges with client.
  • Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications and progress billing reports.
  • Find ways to make construction processes FUN for clients, subcontractors, and vendors without sacrificing QUALITY or SAFETY.

ARCO/Murray National Construction is currently seeking a highly motivated Project Manager to join our Industrial team in Chicago, IL. Our Industrial team builds nationally and boasts an impressive portfolio of completed projects. From day one, you will be given full project management responsibilities on a variety of design/build light- and mid-industrial projects.

The ideal candidate is someone looking to build, sell and interested in growing a team.

A Day in the Life:

  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout
  • Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget

  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with all designers, subcontractors and vendors aimed at solving potential constructability, sequencing, and/or manpower issues
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site once construction begins to review progress and address challenges directly with client
  • Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports
  • Most importantly…find a way to make the construction process FUN for your clients, subcontractors, and vendors without sacrificing on QUALITY or SAFETY!!!

Necessary Qualifications:

  • BS in Engineering or related field
  • 2-5 years' of construction management or engineering design experience
  • Previous experience leading ground up commercial, light industrial, multi-family, hospitality, or entertainment construction projects is preferred
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project
