AECOM is seeking a Project Manager to join the Greenville, SC Remediation team within the Environment business line. The role involves leading and supporting soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigations, remediation programs, data analysis and report preparation. Immediate start expected.

The candidate will manage staff and subcontractors, engage stakeholders, and oversee financial aspects of projects, ensuring quality and regulatory compliance while mentoring junior staff.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Geology, Engineering or related field with 4 years of related experience.
  • Current professional licensure such as Licensed Geologist, Professional Engineer, or REC.
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting with focus in site assessment and/or remediation.
  • 2+ years of project management experience.
  • Experience with remedial investigation reports and corrective action plans.
  • OSHA 40-hr Hazardous Waste Operations Training and Refreshers.
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and ability to pass MVR.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking Project Manager to be based in our Greenville, SC office. This position will support our Remediation team within our Environment business line. This position is expected to begin immediately.

In this role, the selected candidate will assist/lead project and program management with design and implementation of soil, groundwater, sediment and surface water investigative and remediation programs, data analysis, and report preparation.

The selected applicant will be responsible for working on investigation and remediation projects while managing AECOM staff, subcontractors, technical delivery, stakeholder engagement/communication, and financial management.

The job responsibilities for this position will include but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for the overall project management of various remedial investigation and remediation sites.
  • Utilizes advanced scientific principles, theories, practices and existing technologies to develop technical solutions for complex problems.
  • Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, and compares findings to relevant local, provincial and national regulations to ensure compliance. Work is performed with minimal direction.
  • Exercises considerable latitude in determining technical objectives of assignment. Responsible for advanced duties and activities in their specialized functional area.
  • Conducts research and does investigation work as required.
  • Plans and organizes project investigations.
  • Assists in the resolution of conflicting technical information and unsuitability of standard procedures.
  • Performs complex assignments often requiring the development of unique solutions to problems.
  • Oversees the work of less experienced geologists, engineers and scientists, and provides mentorship or training as needed.
Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • BA/BS in Geology, Engineering or related field+ 4years of related experienceor demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  • Current professional licensure or accreditation, such as Licensed Geologist, Professional Engineer, and/or Registered Environmental Consultant (REC).
  • 5+ years of experience in environmental consulting with focus in site assessment and/or remediation
  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • Experience working with remedial investigation reports and corrective action plans
  • OSHA 40-hr Hazardous Waste Operations Training and Refreshers
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
  • Due to the nature of this work, U.S. Citizenship is a requirement of the position.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Masters Degree in Geology, Engineering or related field
  • 8+ years of experience performing and leading site investigations that includes soil/groundwater/vapor sampling, soil boring/monitoring well installations with various drilling techniques (i.e., DPT, HSA, sonic, air rotary, mud rotary, etc.), analytical data interpretation and reporting.
  • 5+ years of project management experience
  • Fluency with CAD or GIS
  • Experience with various remediation technologies; vapor mitigation systems, AS/SVE systems, pump and treat systems, chemical injections, soil blending, thermal remediation, bio-sparge, etc.
  • Experience with groundwater modeling and numeric computing programs
  • OSHA 30-Hr Construction Training
  • Experience with South Carolina Department of Environmental Services (SCDES), North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ), and United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA).
