Job summary

K&A Engineering in Rochester, New York is seeking a Project Manager II to join our energy and utility team. You will coordinate transmission and substation projects, develop execution plans, monitor schedules, manage scope and costs, and ensure client satisfaction.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years of project management experience in utilities; PMP or CAPM is preferred. Onsite reporting to the Lead Project Manager, you will collaborate with engineering, procurement and construction teams.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in a related field with 3–5 years of PM experience.
• Utility sector experience preferred and desirable PMP/CAPM certification.
• Knowledge of project management principles and QA/QC guidelines.
• Experience in risk management, leadership and collaboration across teams.
• Ability to prepare proposals, assist in presentations, and participate in negotiations.
• Onsite position reporting daily to the office.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Project Manager and team and coordinate all aspects of transmission/substation projects.
• Coordinate and lead monthly project reporting, collect and compile data.
• Develop project approach and implement project execution plan.
• Monitor project schedules, manage scope, and control costs.
• Support financials, staffing, risk management, change management, contract management and resources.
• Ensure deliverables meet client satisfaction and QA/QC guidelines.
