Job summary

Chesapeake Utilities Corporation seeks a Project Manager II to lead project management teams in a hybrid role. Overview

Project Manager II — Hybrid; must reside in Pennsylvania, Maryland, North Carolina, Virginia, Delaware, Ohio, Georgia, or Florida.

What you’ll be working on
  • Leads and manages project management team; accountable for planning, coordinating, directing and monitoring progress of project scopes of $10MM - $40MM.
  • Monitor progress of projects to ensure alignment with established goals and budgets, and adjust timelines and resources as necessary.
  • Update budgets, forecasts, schedules (Gantt charts), and status reports on a regular basis showing milestones according to the original plan.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and requirements of Chesapeake Utilities, Pipeline Health and Safety Administration, OSHA, and other federal and state requirements.
  • Create project status presentations with budget forecasts, timelines, and milestones for business unit leaders on a monthly basis.
  • Assist with selection and review of contractor progress.
  • Demonstrate Chesapeake Utilities Corporation’s Mission, Vision and Values in interactions with external customers, agencies, vendors, internal departments and coworkers.
  • Lead project meetings to review progress, provide updates and identify risks.
  • Mentor Project Manager I as needed.
Who you are
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Technical Field (Project Management, Engineering, Construction).
  • Three (3) years of experience with Project Management and/or Engineering.
  • PMP Certification or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Valid Driver’s License required.
  • Ability to understand complex problems and to collaborate and explore alternative solutions.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work schedules of others on a short-term basis.
  • Ability to make decisions which have impact on both the work unit and department.
  • Ability to compose letters, outlines, memoranda, and basic reports and to verbally communicate technical information.
  • Ability to compose materials such as detailed reports, work-related manuals, and make presentations outside the immediate work area.
  • Ability to compute, analyze, and interpret numerical data for reporting purposes.
