As a Project Manager on the Energy team, you'll play a key role in bringing energy-related projects from concept to completion. You'll manage project timelines, budgets, documentation, and stakeholder communication while helping ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope. From utility rebate programs and lighting upgrades to HVAC, solar, water, and infrastructure initiatives, you'll contribute to projects that create measurable financial and operational value.
Success in this role requires strong project management skills, analytical thinking, attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate effectively across multiple teams. You'll have the opportunity to influence energy efficiency strategies, drive continuous improvement, and help the organization achieve its long-term operational and sustainability goals.
Manage assigned Maintenance CAPEX and expense-funded energy projects from initiation through completion.
Support larger, cross-functional energy and infrastructure initiatives led by senior team members.
Develop project plans, timelines, and milestones while monitoring progress against established goals.
Manage project scope and ensure all changes are properly documented, communicated, and approved.
Track budgets, project performance, and energy savings metrics to ensure successful outcomes.
Prepare and deliver regular project status updates and performance reports to leadership.
Coordinate with internal stakeholders, including Operations, Procurement, Legal, Finance, and IT, as well as external vendors and service providers.
Create and maintain project documentation, tools, reporting templates, and best practices that support efficient project execution.
Conduct post-project evaluations to measure success, identify lessons learned, and drive continuous improvement.
Support utility rebate programs related to water, solar, HVAC, roofing, lighting, and other energy-efficiency initiatives, including application tracking, documentation, reporting, and rebate payment processing.
Analyze project and energy performance data to identify trends, opportunities, and actionable business insights.
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
Two or more years of project management, energy, facilities, construction, maintenance, or related industry experience.
Understanding of energy consumption, energy flow, and the financial impact of energy efficiency initiatives.
Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage diverse stakeholders.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret large datasets and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
Experience tracking project schedules, budgets, milestones, and performance metrics.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Ability to build effective, results-oriented relationships across teams and with external partners.
Willingness to travel up to 15%.
Experience managing energy efficiency, sustainability, facilities, maintenance, or utility-related projects.
Knowledge of utility rebate programs and incentive opportunities.
Experience working with HVAC, lighting, solar, roofing, water conservation, or other energy-focused initiatives.
Familiarity with CAPEX project planning, budgeting, and reporting.
Experience working in a large, multi-site retail, distribution, or corporate environment.
Project management training or certification (PMP, CAPM, or similar).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including data analysis, reporting, and dashboard creation.
A passion for sustainability, operational excellence, and driving measurable business results.
