Job description

Project Manager

We are seeking a Project Manager to lead the design and delivery of large, complex infrastructure projects and to support strong relationships with existing and future clients within an established energy-focused business line. This role will support hydropower and dam-related projects.

The successful candidate will be a hands‑on problem solver who can navigate challenges as they arise across teams, clients, offices, disciplines, and projects. They will foster effective working relationships with colleagues, project partners, clients, and regulatory stakeholders.

The organization takes a thoughtful approach to workplace flexibility, balancing employee choice with team collaboration and project needs. The goal is to create an environment that supports productivity, teamwork, and employee well‑being, enabling people to perform at their best.

This position offers flexibility to work from home or from a U.S.-based office location and may require domestic and occasional international travel.

Base pay range

$125,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform work in a manner that protects the health and safety of employees, clients, and the public by following established health, safety, and security policies.
  • Maintain and enhance the organization’s reputation with clients, approval agencies, and industry professionals as a high-quality service provider.
  • Manage multiple projects concurrently.
  • Establish project objectives, procedures, and performance standards, and lead multidisciplinary teams through proposals, planning studies, feasibility analyses, final design, and construction services for hydropower and dam projects.
  • Identify appropriate resources and skill sets to meet project objectives; manage contract terms; track and control project costs and schedules; and implement measures to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Lead by example through active support of internal risk management, project management, and quality management practices.
  • Build internal and external professional networks, contribute to the organization’s market presence, and support talent growth within the team.
  • Provide mentoring and training to support the development of future leaders and succession planning.
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships to support project execution and business continuity.
  • Promote collaboration and teamwork across business lines and geographic regions.
Capabilities and Credentials
  • Strong project management experience, including organizing, planning, and executing projects from pursuit through closeout with internal teams, subconsultants, contractors, and vendors.
  • Demonstrated success in client service and relationship management.
  • Proven leadership experience, including setting direction for teams and projects, contributing to strategy, managing change, and supporting organizational objectives.
  • Experience preparing proposals, including detailed scopes of work, project budgets aligned to scope, and baseline schedules for engineering services.
  • Strong decision‑making skills, with the ability to evaluate risks, make sound business judgments, and solve complex technical and project challenges.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in problem solving and risk management.
  • Experience preparing and reviewing monthly financial and project performance reports.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to travel to other offices and project sites as required.
Education and Experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant project management experience, preferably supporting hydropower and dam‑related projects.
  • Bachelor’s degree in civil, structural, geotechnical, mechanical, or electrical engineering.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred.
  • Experience working with public‑sector owners and agencies involved in water resources, energy, or infrastructure projects is a plus.
