Job summary

KLA Industries, Inc. in Greensboro, NC is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout.

You will own budgets, schedules, and margins and serve as the main point of contact for NCDOT, owners, engineers, inspectors and vendors. Ideal candidates have 5+ years as PM of record on heavy civil work, proven NCDOT PM experience, and a track record of managing projects end-to-end.

Qualifications

• 5+ years as the Project Manager of record on heavy civil projects.
• NCDOT project experience as the PM is required. Be ready to name the jobs.
• Experience running projects from start to finish; not an APM/Engineer role.
• Contractor-side background only; consultants/inspections only won't fit.
• Strong on cost control, schedules, change orders and managing field teams.
• Vista and HCSS HeavyJob experience preferred.

• Handle change orders, pay estimates, submittals, claims and contract documentation.
• Run weekly project meetings on schedule and cost, and report performance to leadership.
• Work with estimating on bids and the handoff so the job starts right.
• Keep a strong safety culture on every site.

Location: Greensboro, NC (Piedmont Triad), with work across central North Carolina

A well established, self perform heavy civil contractor with a growing program in the Carolinas is hiring a Project Manager for NCDOT work across central North Carolina.

This is a strong opportunity for a Project Manager who has already run NCDOT jobs as the PM of record, start to finish, and wants a backlog that's already won and a direct line to senior leadership.

You'll run NCDOT roadway, bridge and utility projects from preconstruction through closeout, much of it self performed. Triad and Triangle candidates are ideal, and candidates ready to relocate to central North Carolina are welcome.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years as the Project Manager of record on heavy civil, highway, bridge or utility work for a contractor.
• Documented NCDOT project experience as the PM is required. Be ready to name the jobs.
• You have already run projects in their entirety. This is not a step up role for an APM or Project Engineer.
• Contractor side builders only. Consultant, design or inspection only backgrounds will not fit.
• Strong on cost control, schedules, change orders and managing field teams.
• Vista and HCSS HeavyJob experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management preferred, or equivalent field experience.
• OSHA 30 is a plus.
• Central North Carolina candidates preferred. Candidates open to relocating are welcome.
