Job summary

Willmeng Construction in Phoenix seeks a Heavy Civil Project Manager to lead projects from preconstruction through closeout, developing budgets, schedules, and contracts while upholding Willmeng’s standards of excellence.

You will hire and manage subcontractors, ensure safety and quality, coordinate with owners, designers, and field teams, and drive project performance through proactive problem-solving.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management.
• 5–15 years of heavy civil experience.
• Deep understanding of construction risk management and safety standards.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively to multiple sites.
• Proven ability to motivate, lead, and organize high-performing teams.

• Champions safety, quality, and compliance across all project activities.
• Motivates, develops, and leads project teams, fostering accountability and growth.

The Role

As a Heavy Civil Project Manager at Willmeng, you are the driving force behind project success from preconstruction through closeout. You lead the team in developing budgets, schedules, and contracts, ensuring every phase aligns with client goals and Willmeng’s standards of excellence. What we would like you to have

• Bachelor’s in Civil Engineering, Construction Engineering, or Construction Management preferred; 5–15 years of heavy civil experience or equivalent.
• Deep understanding of construction risk management, safety standards, and industry best practices.
• Strong time management and logical decision-making skills, even under pressure.
• Willing and able to travel extensively to support projects across multiple sites.
• Proven ability to motivate, lead, and organize high-performing teams.
