Job summary

Harley Ellis Devereaux (HED) is seeking an experienced Project Manager for Healthcare to lead large-scale healthcare projects within multidisciplinary teams. You will partner with owners, consultants, and contractors, manage schedules and budgets, and ensure design excellence and quality control across phases.

You bring a minimum 8 years in the A/E field, with healthcare project experience, licensure, and a proven ability to mentor teams and navigate complex client needs in a hybrid work setting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Interior Design required.
  • Professional Licensure required.
  • Minimum 8 years post-graduate professional experience in the A/E industry.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an A/E or Client-Side Project Manager with direct responsibility for project financial and risk management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience healthcare projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of professional A/E services from marketing through design, construction and project close-out.
  • Demonstrated understanding of coordination of all design disciplines.
  • Strong business acumen, leadership and teamwork skills, including mentoring others under deadlines.
  • Proactive, self-motivated, flexible approach.
  • Strategic outlook with attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Principal-in-Charge with the professional services proposal process and negotiations.
  • Prepare contract forms for owners and consultants; monitor adherence and secure additional service fees as needed.
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor project plans and strategies.
  • Lead multi-disciplinary A/E teams and interface with clients, contractors, consultants, and authorities.
  • Manage overall project schedule; develop short-term schedules and tasks.
  • Establish and monitor discipline hour budgets and staffing to meet profit goals.
  • Guide adherence to the HED Project Design Process; manage design reviews to meet policies.
  • Interact with Operations Leaders and Business Leaders regarding metrics and goals.
  • Ad hoc responsibilities as assigned.

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Our Healthcare sector is looking to add an experienced team member to our group of talented Project Managers. The candidate should have broad expertise, with a focus on Healthcare, and be enthused about joining HED's shared commitment to Advancing Your World through Critical Thinking, Integrated Practice, and Design Excellence. You will get to utilize your expertise in large-scale healthcare projects with complex team structures.

TYPICAL DUTIES
  • Assist the Principal-in-Charge the professional services proposal process (including participating in marketing efforts and interviews) and in negotiating the Agreement with the owner
  • Prepare contract forms for both owners and any consultants and monitor adherence to those contracts. Identify and secure, prior to doing the work, additional service fees for activities outside the Owner Agreement
  • Prepare, implement, and monitor project plans and strategies
  • Lead and direct multi-disciplinary A/E teams and all project activities, interfacing with the project team, clients, contractors, consultants, and all authorities having jurisdiction, through all phases of a project
  • Manage overall project schedule and develop, coordinate, and manage short-term schedules, next steps, and tasks with project team
  • Establish and monitor discipline hour budgets and staffing needs to meet profit goals
  • Guide and monitor A/E project teams' adherence to the HED Project Design Process. Schedule, coordinate, and manage all required design and technical reviews to meet the established Company and Sector policies and procedures for quality
  • Interact regularly with Operations Leaders and Business Leaders regarding metrics for project success, issue resolution, and strategic goals
  • Ad hoc responsibilities as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Interior Design required
  • Professional Licensure required
  • Minimum 8 years post-graduate professional experience in the A/E industry
  • Minimum 3 years of experience working as an A/E or Client-Side Project Manager with direct responsibility for project financial and risk management
  • Minimum 5 years of experience healthcare projects
  • Extensive knowledge of all aspects of professional A/E services from marketing through design, construction and project close-out
  • Demonstrated comprehensive understanding of the coordination of all design disciplines
  • Strong business acumen, leadership and teamwork skills, including the ability to mentor, and motivate others in a design-focused environment under deadline situations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Capable of traveling to and from project sites, both locally and across the US; attending client, project, and construction meetings
  • Ability to access existing and new project sites for observation, investigation, and evaluation purposes
  • Ability to use office equipment for communication and documentation purposes
  • Visual acuity to perform responsibilities
