Job summary

Digital Building Components is seeking a Project Manager to oversee all construction project phases from design to completion. You will lead multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate architectural, structural, and modeling work, and manage budgets, schedules, and client communications across sites in Utah.

Qualifications

  • 5 years of commercial construction project management experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or 5+ years of PM experience.
  • Experience leading a team of 5 or more people.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office and Revu BlueBeam; knowledge of Revit/AutoCAD a plus.

  • Oversee project budgets and schedules to deliver fabrication projects per customer expectations.
  • Coordinate architectural design, structural engineering, and modeling progress.
  • Coordinate scope and design with general contractor and adjacent subs during design phase.
  • Prepare permit documents for submission to proper authorities.
  • Coordinate fabrication approval from general contractor/architect.
  • Manage internal model coordination to ensure timely project coordination.
  • Coordinate installation with installation teams and general contractor.
  • Provide support to installation team for questions during installation.
  • Maintain strong communication with customers regarding material status and project schedule.

Job description

Digital Building Components, part of the DPR Family of Companies, is seeking a Project Manager to be responsible for all aspects of our construction projects, from design phase to completion. We are looking for someone who understands the construction and fabrication process fully. The ideal candidate will be driven with strong leadership skills and the ability to work with other disciplines both internally and outside the organization. Responsibilities will include but may not be limited to the following:

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Supervise multiple personnel within the project team.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Manage overall project budgets and schedules to delivery fabrication project in accordance with customers’ expectations.
  • Coordinate the architectural design, structural engineering, and modeling progress.
  • Coordinate scope and design with the general contractor and adjacent subcontractors during design phase.
  • Manage the preparation of permit documents for submission to proper parties.
  • Manage the overall process of achieving approval to fabricate from the general contractor/architect.
  • Manage the internal model coordination process and ensure projects are coordinated timely and effectively.

  • Provide support to the installation team should questions or issues arise during installation.
Manage Project Financials
  • Oversee and Design/Engineering/Modeling/PM budget status and team performance.
  • Track potential project impacts, prepare, submit, and negotiate change orders as required.
  • Prepare and submit project billings, as well as forecast costs.
Customer Service
  • Be the main point of contact with the customer from award of project through installation.
  • Proactively communicate and respond to their needs, providing great service while also looking managing our business interests.
  • Build strong relationship with customers and external project teams by working in an open and collaborative manner.
  • Supports and interacts with internal and external project team members.
  • Maintains strong communication to customers regarding material status and project schedule on a regular basis.
  • Occasional travel to project sites for coordination and planning purposes.
Required Skills And Abilities
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Willingness to lead and direct project team members.
  • Ability to identify and resolve complex issues in a diplomatic manner.
  • Effective participation in collaborative team environment.
  • Experienced user of Microsoft Office Suite and Revu BlueBeam.
  • Revit or AutoCAD experience a plus.
  • A strong work ethic and a “can-do” attitude.
Education and Experience
  • 5 years of commercial construction project management.
  • Applicable experience managing design/modeling/detailing activities.
  • Experience leading a team of 5 or more people.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management OR 5+ years of commercial construction project management experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times if needed.
