Clayco Design and Engineering (CDE) is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, architects, and designers from concept through construction administration.

You will oversee scope, schedule, and budget, ensure design quality, serve as the primary client contact, review submittals and RFIs, perform site visits, and contribute to proposals and client discussions.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited engineering degree required.
• 10+ years in engineering design, construction, or project management.
• 2+ years leading design or project teams.
• Strong communication and proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Lead a project team of engineers, architects, and designers through all project phases from concept to construction administration.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to meet client goals.
• Ensure design quality through project quality reviews.
• Serve as primary client contact and foster strong relationships.

The Role We Want You For

The Project Manager will lead a multi-disciplinary team, overseeing the engineering disciplines required to deliver fully integrated design projects for clients across multiple industries. This person will be responsible for the successful execution of complex projects, ensuring quality, budget, and schedule alignment while delivering exceptional results. They will manage and coordinate engineers, architects, and designers through all project phases, from concept through construction administration, and collaborate across teams to achieve innovative design-build solutions.

The Specifics of the Role

• Lead a project team of engineers, architects, and designers to successfully execute projects that meet client and industry standards.
• Manage project scope, schedule, and budget to ensure alignment with client goals.
• Ensure design quality through implementation of project quality reviews.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the client, fostering strong relationships and communication.
• Oversee the submittal and RFI review process, and perform site visits to confirm work aligns with design intent.
• Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals, presentations, and client discussions.
• Demonstrate strong leadership and organizational skills with a proactive, solutions-driven approach.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from an ABET (Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology) accredited university or college.
• 10+ years of experience in engineering design, construction, or project management.
• 2+ years of experience managing design or project teams.
• Broad knowledge of advanced manufacturing, food & beverage, consumer, or ecommerce environments, with an understanding of client requirements and industry standards.
• Competitive drive and persistence to overcome challenges and deliver results.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Strong communicator, able to present clearly to clients and internal stakeholders.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Understanding of design-build delivery and client decision-making drivers.
• Team-oriented, adaptable, and resilient in dynamic environments.
• Willingness to travel to client or project sites as required.
