About the Role

This position is responsible for providing capital engineering support to successfully implement capital projects on time and on budget, assisting operations and maintenance in achieving safety, environmental, quality, and productivity goals at the Hamilton Pigment Facility.

Responsibilities
  • Work with minimal supervision to develop and implement project plans that align with organizational plans, ensuring the plant runs at optimal capacity.
  • Create project proposals, including specifications, expenditure justifications, performance milestones, monitoring, and corrective mechanisms to meet objectives.
  • Organize and execute projects in stages (scope, schedule, cost, functionality, construction) for disciplined risk control.
  • Submit projects for gate approval with all required information.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant engineering and regulatory standards.
  • Participate in the design, planning, construction, supervision, and commissioning of approved plant upgrades and modifications.
  • Coordinate and manage internal or contract labor during project execution.
  • Complete Design Change Approvals (DCA) for capital projects.
  • Monitor construction activities for compliance with site safety policies.
  • Consistently demonstrate Tronox’s core values.
Qualifications
  • The ideal candidate is an engaging, collaborative, and strategic professional with exceptional project management, planning, and relationship‑building skills.
  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline).
  • Minimum of 2 years of capital‑project experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of plant operations and processes within an industrial/chemical facility.
  • Exceptional human‑relations skills.
  • Internal applicants must have an MX or higher rating on their most recent performance evaluation and no active corrective actions.
Physical Requirements
  • No facial hair that interferes with respirator sealing surfaces (e.g., beards, goatees, or excessive sideburns).
  • Prolonged periods of remaining in a stationary position, often sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Occasional standing for extended periods and walking long distances between work areas.
  • Occasional use of stairs and work in outdoor weather conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
