Job summary

Mactores is seeking a Project Manager to lead a large-scale data center migration and modernization to AWS in the United States. You will coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, architecture, security, and business units to ensure a successful migration and ongoing optimization.

The role requires strong project management experience, deep AWS knowledge, and the ability to drive modernization efforts, communicate effectively, and manage vendor relationships across multiple time

Qualifications

• 3+ years leading data center migrations to AWS.
• 5+ years as a project manager with US time zones.
• Deep knowledge of AWS cloud services and migration tools.
• Experience with Smartsheet, Jira/Confluence, Clockify.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and leadership skills.

As the Project Manager, you will be responsible to lead a large-scale Data Center Migration and Modernization project focused on transitioning workloads, applications, and infrastructure to AWS. The ideal candidate will have strong project management expertise, hands-on experience delivering cloud migration programs, and the ability to coordinate cross-functional engineering, architecture, security and business teams.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end planning and execution of the data center migration to AWS, including assessment, discovery, design, migration waves, and stabilization.
• Drive modernization initiatives including containerization, refactoring, re-platforming, and automation improvements.
• Develop and maintain project plans, migration wave schedules, RAID logs, communication plans, and status reports.
• Ensure activities align with cloud adoption frameworks, enterprise architecture guidelines, and client business objectives.
• Track scope, priorities, risks, dependencies, delays and deliverables across multiple workstreams.
• Serve as the primary point of contact between engineering teams, leadership, and client stakeholders.
• Conduct steering committee meetings, sprint reviews, and technical workstream syncs.
• Align cross-functional teams including cloud architects, network/security teams, DevOps, and application owners.
• Manage vendor relationships and third-party integrators involved in migration execution.
• Conduct daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint retrospective meeting
• Facilitate internal and external architecture discussions, review calls, and document decisions with the teams who work in India and three timezones in the US
• Proactively create meeting notes, weekly customer presentations, and organize project documents and recorded calls
• Review and approve employee timesheets, leaves and perform team calendar management
• Enable customer success by proactively communicating project status, risks, requests
• Take ownership of customer escalations and facilitate the resolution
• Negotiate the scope changes in the project by producing appropriate project documentation

What are we looking for

• 3+ years of proven experience leading data center migration to AWS
• 5+ years of experience as a Project manager or scrum master with customers in US timezones
• Strong understanding of AWS cloud services, landing zones, VPC/ networking, IAM, EC2, RDS, S3, Lambda, EKS/ECS and migration tools
• Expertise in using Smartsheet, Jira / Confluence, Clockify
• Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and coaching skills
• Expertise in managing internal and external teams
• Strong prioritization and problem-solving skills

You will be preferred if you posses

• Experience in cloud migration projects on AWS
• Solution Architect Associate Certification
• Professional Scrum Master™ certification
• Managing Jira Projects certification
• Smartsheet Certification
