Job summary

ARCO Design/Build, Inc. in Memphis, TN is seeking a driven Project Engineer/Project Manager to advance our design/build initiatives.

You will manage both the administrative and technical aspects of projects from conception through completion, ensuring performance and profitability from day one. The role emphasizes collaboration with owners and design teams, strong problem solving, and maintaining high integrity and customer focus in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• BS in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or related field with minimum 3.0 GPA.
• 2–5 years' design/build construction experience with a general contractor preferred.
• Vertical commercial construction experience.
• Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

• Oversee managerial and administrative aspects of a project: estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, cost reporting, safety and proposal preparation.
• Ensure accurate and complete project estimates and budgets.
• Collaborate with owners and design team to develop preliminary concept drawings.
• Participate in owner meetings to review scope, costs, and value engineering.
• Oversee buyout process and subcontractor selection.
• Conduct bi-weekly on-site progress meetings and site inspections.
• Make sound decisions under tight deadlines and manage multiple activities.

We are looking for a highly motivated Design/Build Manager, who is passionate about the construction process to join our Memphis, TN team. At ARCO, every associate is empowered to drive their success. You’ll be responsible for project performance and profit from day one.

A Day in the Life:

• Responsible for managerial and administrative aspects of a project. Including, estimating, scheduling, quality control, progress reports, progress billing, design review and coordination, cost reporting, safety, and proposal preparation
• Ensure an accurate and complete project estimate
• Work closely with owners and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings
• Participate in the proposal meeting with the owner to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, and provide value engineering ideas
• Oversee the buyout process and the selection of subcontractors
• Conduct bi-weekly job site meetings on site
• Make sound decisions under tight deadlines
• Organize, plan, and manage multiple activities to accomplish desired results
• Commit to quality by evaluating project-related processes
• Make necessary changes, use customer input to make improvements, and meet/exceed internal and external client expectation
• Act in a manner of integrity that shows support for the company, its values, and other associates, while maintaining a constant focus on meeting/exceeding customer requirements and expectations

Necessary Qualifications:

• BS in Construction, Engineering, Architecture or related field; with a minimum of 3.0 GPA
