Job summary

GE Vernova, Inc. is seeking a Project Manager for Construction and Commissioning (PMCC) to lead field operations, control scope, schedule and budget with project stakeholders.

You will coordinate site teams, track progress, manage risks, and drive timely mobilization and demobilization, ensuring safety and quality. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering or management and 5+ years in construction/commissioning project management, with travel up to 30% and relocation assistance

Responsibilities

• Define site work strategy with the Project Director and Construction leader.
• Build the project financial and physical progress tracking structure for site works and update monthly.
• Perform the Site schedule weekly updates for planned vs. actual progress in collaboration with the site manager and project planner.
• Coordinate communications across the project teams to secure project planning and execution.
• Participate in customer meetings.
• Identify scope changes for site works and provide oversight to stakeholders for quantity and quality impacts.
• Track site documentation for timely issuance to the customer (methods, site quality plan, commissioning reports, etc.).
• Lead risk mitigation and opportunity assessment.
• Prepare RFQs and Purchase Requests for site works subcontracting.
• Manage vendor packages at site (piping, painting, machining, etc.).
• Prepare detailed mobilization planning using framework documentation and checksheets.
• Lead the mobilization tollgate review representing C&C in reviews.
• Anticipate activities for site mobilization including tooling, safety equipment, warehousing, offices, accommodations, and site trainings.
• Prepare and lead site demobilization at project end.

The Project Manager Construction and Commissioning (PMCC) is responsible for preparing and controlling the different phases of field operations for a project. This role is crucial to ensure that site works are completed safely, at the required quality standards, on time and within budget. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in construction sites management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently.

Summary:

The Project Manager of Construction & Commissioning (PMCC) will be responsible for controlling and supporting the field operations activities with respect to scope, schedule, and budget with the support of the project stakeholders.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Participate in site work Strategy definition with the Project Director and Construction leader

• Build the project financial and physical progress tracking structure for site works and update monthly.

• Perform the Site schedule weekly updates for planned vs. actual progress in collaboration with the site manager and project planner

• Coordinate communications across the project teams to secure project planning and execution

• Participate in customer meetings

• Identify the Scope management changes for site works and provide oversight to team stakeholders for quantity and quality impacts

• Track the project site documentation for a timely issuance to the customer (methods, site quality plan, commissioning reports, etc.)

• Proactively engage in risk mitigation and opportunity assessment

• Prepare the Request for Quotations and Purchase Requests for site works subcontracting

• Manage specific vendor packages at site (piping, painting, machining, etc.)

• Prepare the detailed mobilization planning using framework documentation and checksheets, and ensuring that resources loading requirements are met as required

• Lead the mobilization tollgate review representing C&C in all the project related reviews

• Proactively anticipate the activities required for site mobilization, including tooling definition, safety equipment, warehousing requirements, offices infrastructures, worker’s accommodations, and define the required specific site trainings

• Prepare and lead the site demobilization at the end of the project

Required Qualifications:

• College or bachelor’s degree in management or engineering (Mechanical or Electrical), or relevant proven field experience

• 5+ years in project management organization in Construction or Commissioning

Desired Characteristics:

• Project Management Certification

• Experience with technical concepts (including hydropower technology, i.e., turbines, generators, mechanical and electrical balance of plant systems, etc.)

• Field management experience

• Excellent communication skills written and verbal (English)

• Leadership skills

• Availability to travel within USA at least 30% of the time.

• Strong and demonstrated EHS culture

• Attention to quality management and continuous improvement of quality culture
