Job summary

ARCO/Murray National Construction is seeking a Project Manager in the Bay Area who excels at driving design/build projects from concept to completion. You will lead the team, coordinate clients and design partners, manage budgets, and ensure quality and safety across all activities.

You will oversee subcontractors, negotiate contracts, and push for value engineering while maintaining schedule discipline. This role offers growth, financial success, and a culture that values integrity and teamwork.

Qualifications

  • BS in Engineering, Construction or related field.
  • 1-4 years' of construction management or engineering design experience.
  • Proficiency using Word, Excel, Outlook, and Microsoft Project.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from preconstruction through closeout.
  • Work with clients and design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget.
  • Negotiate contracts & fees; oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process.
  • Identify opportunities to procure materials or specialty equipment to fit budget or schedule.
  • Develop subcontractor scopes of work, project schedule, and site logistics plan.
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with designers, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Lead on-site progress meetings to address challenges with client.
  • Track project performance vs budget; prepare pay applications, cost status, and progress reports.
  • Make the construction process engaging for clients, subcontractors, and vendors without compromising quality or safety.

Typical base compensation for this role is between $120,000 and $144,000. Candidates with extensive experience may exceed this range. In addition to base salary, the role is eligible to receive discretionary bonus compensation based on individual and company.

A DAY IN THE LIFE
  • Lead and coordinate all managerial and administrative aspects of project from the earliest stages of preconstruction through project closeout
  • Work closely with clients and the design team to develop preliminary concept drawings and project budget
  • Participate in the proposal meeting with clients to review the scope of work, discuss ways to reduce costs, provide value engineering ideas, and negotiate contracts & fees
  • Oversee subcontractor selection and buyout process for all trades and vendors
  • Identify and investigate opportunities to procure material and/or specialty equipment directly when advantageous to project budget or schedule
  • Work with Project Superintendent to develop and review subcontractor scopes of work/contracts, project schedule, and site logistics plan
  • Lead preconstruction planning meetings with all designers, subcontractors and vendors aimed at solving potential constructability, sequencing, and/or manpower issues
  • Lead weekly/bi-weekly OAC meetings on-site once construction begins to review progress and address challenges directly with client
  • Track and manage project performance vs budget; prepare owner pay applications, cost status, and progress billing reports

NECESSARY QUALIFICATIONS
  • BS in Engineering, Construction or related field
