Position Summary:

The Project Manager is responsible for managing construction projects from preconstruction and turnover through closeout. This position oversees budgets, schedules, subcontractors, documentation, client communication, and field coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage multiple commercial construction projects from award through closeout.
  • Review contract documents, drawings, specifications, estimates, and project requirements.
  • Develop and maintain project budgets, cost projections, and financial forecasts.
  • Complete subcontractor buyout and issue subcontracts and purchase orders promptly.
  • Prepare and maintain project schedules, milestone dates, and recovery plans.
  • Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, consultants, subcontractors, and field supervisors.
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, change events, change orders, meeting minutes, and other project documentation.
  • Ensure submittals and material procurement are completed in time to support the construction schedule.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance, manpower, quality, safety, and schedule compliance.
  • Conduct regular project meetings and clearly document responsibilities and deadlines.
  • Review subcontractor payment applications and support accurate, timely owner billing.
  • Track commitments, costs, pending changes, contingency, retainage, and projected profitability.
  • Identify risks early and develop solutions before they affect cost or schedule.
  • Visit project sites regularly and maintain close coordination with superintendents and jobsite supervisors.
  • Maintain complete and accurate project records in Procore.
  • Lead punch-list completion, closeout documentation, owner training, and final project turnover.
  • Represent E Contractors professionally and protect the company’s contractual and financial interests.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture, or a related field preferred.
  • At least five years of project-management experience with a commercial general contractor.
  • Demonstrated experience managing projects with responsibility for budget, schedule, subcontractors, and client relationships.
  • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, contracts, and project controls.
  • Experience with subcontractor buyout, cost forecasting, change-order management, billing, and closeout.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organization, time management, and follow-through.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities without losing control of details or deadlines.
  • Proficiency with Procore and Microsoft Office 365.
  • Experience with Microsoft Project or comparable scheduling software.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to jobsites throughout the Greater Houston area.
Preferred Experience
  • Public-sector, K–12, higher-education, municipal, healthcare, or institutional construction.
  • Job Order Contracting or other indefinite-delivery construction programs.
  • Renovation work in occupied facilities.
  • Projects requiring phased construction, restricted work hours, or extensive owner coordination.
What We Value
  • Integrity: Do what is right and communicate honestly.
  • Ownership: Accept responsibility for the project’s outcome.
  • Planning: Anticipate needs and address risks early.
  • Accountability: Honor commitments and hold others to theirs.
  • Teamwork: Coordinate effectively with office and field personnel.
