Job summary

Thomas & Hutton is seeking a seasoned Civil Engineer to lead land development and infrastructure design across the Southeast. You will work directly with clients and multidisciplinary teams, planning, modeling, and delivering site solutions with strong attention to schedule and quality.

The role requires a PE license, 5+ years of civil design experience, and expertise in AutoCAD/Civil 3D, stormwater hydraulics, and construction documents.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering required.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• 5+ years of experience in civil engineering design.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Civil 3D software applications is essential.
• Strong understanding of stormwater hydraulics and hydrology.

Responsibilities

• Perform civil site design for land development projects including water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure.
• Prepare engineering calculations, grading plans, drainage reports, and construction documents.
• Lead permitting efforts and coordinate with local and state regulatory agencies.
• Develop technical specifications and bid documents for construction projects.
• Manage and execute project tasks to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal multidisciplinary teams throughout project delivery.
• Perform construction administration activities including site visits and coordination with contractors.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to model and refine designs.

What you’ll do

• Perform civil site design for land development projects including water, sewer, and storm drainage infrastructure

What you bring

• Proven ability to manage multiple assignments and appropriately prioritize workflow

Schedule:

On-site: Monday–Thursday 7:30 a.m.–5:30 p.m.; Friday 7:30 a.m.–11:30 a.m.
Occasional evening and weekend work may be required.
