Job summary

McAdams, a full-service firm in land planning, landscape architecture, civil engineering, transportation, and geomatics, seeks a senior Water Resources Lead for the Raleigh/Durham area. You will grow key client relationships for stormwater projects and oversee technical execution while mentoring staff.

Lead proposals, ensure project profitability, and coordinate schedules with clients and firm leadership. A PE license and 7+ years of water resources experience are required to advance McAdams'

Position Overview

To grow key relationships for stormwater projects within the RDU Triangle area for new and existing clients. To develop and execute stormwater projects including technical, financial, approvals, and permitting issues while exceeding client expectations. To manage and mentor assigned staff across McAdams's office locations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a production team, provide resource management, resolve complex technical problems, coach, train, and mentor design and CAD professionals, and work collaboratively with all team members on all aspects of project execution. Coordinate and oversee resource scheduling to ensure workload and deadlines are managed effectively
  • Establish, promote, and ensure quality on all projects and work performed by group staff
  • Develop proposals or contracts that ensure the contract scope is adequate for the project, provide the desired level of profitability, and ensure that the project schedule is viable
  • Understand business initiatives and concerns of current and prospective clients to recognize and promote new opportunities and cross-sell other services provided by the firm
  • Assist in the development of short-term and long-term strategic market sector plans, with focus in theRaleigh/Durham market
  • Responsible for the profitable operation of the Raleigh/Durham Water Resources group

Skills + Experience

  • PE required
  • 7+ years of related experience and/or training
  • Highly motivated to develop the Water Resources sector within the relevant markets
  • Possess technical expertise in site civil engineering as it applies to stormwater and naturalresources
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities with the ability to carry a project through the design processindependently and within a team framework
  • Demonstrated ability to independently manage and grow key relationships
  • Proven knowledge of budget impacts and profit and revenue expectations
