Job summary

AVER is seeking a PMP certified federal Project Manager to support a high profile OCIO PMO, providing structured oversight, disciplined planning, and executive reporting across a rapidly evolving portfolio.

The role coordinates cross‑functional teams, develops artifacts, interprets KPIs, and drives improvements while managing budgets and change initiatives for government missions.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years of project management experience leading complex multi‑stakeholder projects in fast‑moving environments.
  • Strong understanding of project management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
  • Experience developing project plans, WBS structures, schedules, and analytical artifacts.
  • Proven ability to interpret KPIs, metrics, and feedback to drive improvements.
  • Certification: PMP, CAPM, PMI‑ACP and SAFe/CSM or equivalent agile certification.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate project activities across PMO teams, establishing clear plans, schedules, milestones, and deliverables aligned with CIO priorities.
  • Direct budgeting and cost tracking to support project execution.
  • Evaluate processes and prepare structured reports with findings, improvements, and solutions to management or contractual challenges.
  • Develop project artifacts such as WBS, schedules, charts, and diagrams to support planning and decision‑making.
  • Interpret project metrics and stakeholder feedback to assess performance and drive improvement across initiatives.
  • Support change management including stakeholder communication, training coordination, and adoption plans.
  • Prepare executive‑ready briefings and status updates for PMO leadership and CIO audiences.
  • Provide daily direction and coordination to project staff across multiple concurrent efforts.

AVER is seeking a PMP certified federal Project Manager to support a high profile OCIO Program Management Office (PMO) by providing structured project oversight, disciplined planning, and clear executive‑level reporting across a rapidly evolving portfolio of initiatives. The Project Manager will coordinate cross‑functional teams, organize project activities, and ensure consistent delivery in an environment where new priorities and directives emerge frequently from CIO leadership. This role requires a polished communicator, a strong organizer, and a proactive leader capable of driving clarity, accountability, and progress across multiple concurrent projects. Combine program management operations, business analysis, process improvement, and technology-enabled solutions. Identifying operational challenges, developing practical solutions, and independently driving initiatives from concept through implementation. Analytical, technically inclined, and comfortable operating across PMO functions including schedule management, RAID management, reporting, governance, knowledge management, and process improvement.   • Interpret project metrics, KPIs, and stakeholder feedback to assess performance, identify risks, and drive continuous improvement across initiatives.
  • Support change management activities including stakeholder communication, training coordination, and adoption planning for new processes or systems.
  • Prepare polished, executive‑ready briefings and status updates for PMO leadership and CIO‑level audiences, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and timely reporting.
  • Provide daily direction and coordination to project staff, ensuring alignment, accountability, and consistent progress across multiple concurrent efforts.
Education Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Master’s degree preferred.
Certification Requirements:
  • PMP, CAPM, PMI‑ACP Project management certification required
  • SAFe, CSM or equivalent agile certification required
Experience Requirements:
  • 8+ years of project management experience with demonstrated experience leading complex, multi‑stakeholder projects in fast‑moving environments
