Role Overview

One of the most critical management positions responsible for Capital Program Delivery is the Project Manager Associate. This position plays a critical role in the District's team approach to Capital Program Delivery relying on each role to carry a heavy project management workload. The Project Manager Associate maintains all the scheduling, coordination and budgetary needs of the District's transportation assets. Many unique and often expedited projects are managed annually by Project Manager Associates. The Capital Programs team collectively manages over $2,000,000,000 worth of projects across 5 year program. Project Manager Associates are the most pivotal role in this endeavor as you will helps facilitate and manage projects in development for up to 5 years before construction. This position will manage State and Local projects, and you will be responsible for managing an average of $175 Million of infrastructure improvements.

This position is with INDOT's Greenfield District.

Salary

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $59,800.00 but may be commensurate with education and work experience. Use our Compensation Calculator to view the total compensation package.

A Day In The Life

• Manage project team through all phases of project planning, execution, and closeout consistent with established project delivery processes to meet the scope, schedule, budget, and other specified requirements.
• Complete the scope of work ensuring INDOT’s quality, financial, risk management and policy expectations are met.
• Review overall work progress and technical performance on the project.
• Communicate efforts during project delivery to ensure project success.
• Review and understand all functional (ROW, environmental, design, utility, etc.) requirements to ensure clear expectations and establish predictable workloads.
• Facilitate cross-functional engagement with design and construction.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.

Individuals in this role should minimally be able to articulate or demonstrate the following:

• Ability to manageprojectsoflow, moderate complexity anddollarvalue, generally
• Ability to engage and communicate information with internal and external stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
• Ability to plan project scope and schedule consistent with the project development process.
• Ability to establish and manage project budget, understanding all financial implications/issues.
• Specialized knowledge of project standards with rural, suburban and urban areas.
• Working knowledge and experience with the Uniform Relocation on Assistance & Real Property Acquisition Policy Act requirements.
• Advanced range of experience managing environmental documents.Working knowledge of medium-level permit requirements.

For INDOT candidates, you must have the following requirements to be considered for employment:

• Successful completion of Purdue’s Project Management Essentials Course after 12 months but before 24 months of employment.

A degree is not required. However, at least four (4) years of project management related experience applying the outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role may be considered.

Individuals should have the ability to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports

This role may serve as a team lead for an assigned work group.
