Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking a Project Manager to lead civil construction efforts from our Bay City office and oversee operations across Flint, Gaylord, Traverse City locations. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, 10+ years on MDOT projects, and a PE license, with strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.

Lead contracts, supervise staff, support business development, and manage scope, schedule, and budget while fostering client relationships and ensuring safety.

Responsibilities

• Administer contracts for MDOT/Local Agency Program projects for Wade Trim's Traverse City, Gaylord, Bay City and Flint offices.
• Manage and supervise construction staff including field engineers and inspectors.
• Assist and support business development and sales for Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) work with MDOT.
• Assist and support project proposal development including positioning, approach, preparation and pricing.
• Oversee project execution including management of scope, schedule and budget.
• Manage resources to deliver projects on time and within budget while meeting client expectations.
• Provide constructability input to design teams.
• Ensure field staff have proper safety equipment and training.
• Develop and maintain lasting client relationships.
• Participate in project reviews (QA/QC) meetings.
• Prepare applications, permits and specifications as required.
• Develop project reports and technical presentations.
• Attend client, staff and project meetings.
• Maintain a safe working environment

Position Description:

We are looking for a Project Manager to join our Construction Team in our Bay City office and oversee operations in Flint, Gaylord, Traverse City locations as well. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering and at least ten years of experience on MDOT construction projects. Excellent technical writing, organization and communication skills are essential. Candidates must also have a Professional Engineer License. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others.

Typical responsibilities include:

• As a Project Manager, administer contracts for primarily MDOT and MDOT Local Agency Program projects for Wade Trim's Traverse City, Gaylord, Bay City and Flint offices.
• Manage and supervise construction staff including field engineers and inspectors
• Responsible for assisting and supporting business development and sales for Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) work with MDOT.
