Job summary

Sargent & Lundy is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee multiple transmission, substation, and distribution project executions in a hybrid work environment. You will coordinate with internal and external departments to manage the full lifecycle of capital projects and deliver quality client experiences.

Applicants should bring 12+ years in project management across utilities or related sectors, plus strong leadership, communication, and risk management skills.

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience in project management of utility, construction, engineering, or other relevant experience.
  • Proven experience managing multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Experience in capital project management.
  • Experience serving as a firm/client liaison in a support or lead role.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple competing priorities is critical to success.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative team setting.
  • A high school diploma or GED.
  • Comfortable with approximately 10‑25% domestic travel.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for project execution, contract administration, planning, and resource management.
  • Take ownership for all aspects of project performance including safety, schedule, budget, reporting, and client experience through the entire project life cycle.
  • Accountable for all phases of the project life cycle from initiation, planning, execution, monitoring/controlling, and close out.
  • Manage and direct the project team to ensure accountability; mentor and coach team members.
  • Develop and maintain a positive working relationship with client functional leads and stakeholders.
  • Lead efforts to ensure projects are completed safely, satisfactorily, on time, and within budget.
  • Support the reporting of key performance indicators for schedule, budget, and other dashboard items.
  • Identify and control construction risk.
  • Recognize, identify, track, and control change.
  • Communicate and consult with appropriate stakeholders and supervisors.
  • Prepare reports that present project information in a clear and concise manner and meet client requirements.
  • Analyze issues and provide solutions to improve results.

$134,546 - $205,557
