Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Project Manager 2 in Baltimore to oversee and coordinate operations for the Engineering & Sciences BaPS organization. The role liaises between project management, planning, the project team, and line management, with an onsite expectation.

You’ll support executive presentations, data analysis, workforce planning, and alignment to a Director-level team, contributing to efficient project execution and strategic growth.

Qualifications

  • 8y (Bachelors) / 6y (Masters) / 4y (PhD) in Project Management or related field.
  • U.S. Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with next level engineering and division operations managers in an operational cadence with cyclic reporting and analysis of program goals.
  • Support the process for resource planning (staffing, NCTA, Capital, etc.).
  • Support budgeting, planning and financial forecasting.
  • Coordinate with discipline managers to ensure facilities and infrastructure support business execution and growth.
  • Coordinate engineering status reporting and data repositories (e.g., SharePoint).
  • Plan and facilitate leadership off-sites, site visits, reviews, and staff meetings.
  • Lead special initiatives and translate business needs into engineering strategies.
  • Coordinate regular reviews of engineering metrics and indicators.

We are seeking a Project Manager 2 to join our Engineering & Sciences Baltimore and Partner Sites (E&S BaPS) Business Operations organization. This role supports an existing team that oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. The Business Operations organization is responsible for a variety of activities focused on enabling the efficient execution of the E&S BaPS organization. The Project Manager will lead various efforts within the Bus Ops organization to include specific activities and alignment to a Director level team within the E&S BaPS organization.

As part of the business operations organization, the team provides support to a myriad of activities including preparation of Executive presentations, data compilation and analysis, support to incoming Interns and Pathways, Workforce planning activities, and tracking of organizational resources. This position is expected to be an onsite position.

What You’ll Get to Do:
  • Partner with next level engineering and division operations managers in an operational cadence to include cyclic reporting and analysis of program and portfolio goals to achieve contractual and organizational objectives.
  • Support the process for resource planning (including staffing, NCTA, Capital, etc.).
  • Support budgeting, planning and financial forecasting.
  • Partner with discipline managers to ensure engineering has the facilities & infrastructure to effectively support business execution and growth.
  • Coordination of engineering status reporting.
  • Manage and maintain data repositories (e.g; SharePoint, Website content).
  • Planning, coordination, and facilitation of meetings such as leadership off-sites and site visits, functional reviews, staffing and financial reviews, staff meetings, etc.
  • Perform special assignments and/or lead special initiatives as assigned.
  • Translate business needs into short / long term engineering functional strategies (people, process, tools, products and services).
  • Coordinate regular review of engineering metrics (e.g; metrics repository and leading indicators, IPRS, Salesforce).

This position is contingent upon the ability to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree with 8 years of experience, Master’s degree with 6 years of experience, Ph.D. with 4 years of experience in Project Management or related discipline fields.
  • U.S Citizenship is required.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain an active U.S. Government Secret Clearance
  • Experience in leadership combined with strong collaboration and team building skills.
  • Experience with prioritizing multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them simultaneously
  • Experience with leading and delivering complex projects
  • Experience with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Experience in one of these areas: Capital/NCTA management, facilities strategies, staffing strategy and resource allocation
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Active Secret Clearance or higher
  • Experience working in a dynamic work environment
  • Familiarity with Northrop Grumman’s portfolio, product lines, and business planning processes and tools.
  • Knowledge of corporate engineering standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving capabilities, enabling swift, data driven recommendations from both quantitative and qualitative sources.
  • Proficient in leveraging AI technologies to enhance insight generation and decision making.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage and collaborate with senior leadership across Northrop Grumman and key customer organizations, building strong strategic relationships.
  • Proven track record managing a wide spectrum of program types from research and development and full rate production to logistics support, systems integration, and service delivery.
  • Leadership experience in both functional and program wide roles, driving cross functional teams toward mission critical objectives.
  • Exposure to program/project management processes and practices, including cross functional coordination, dependency management, milestone tracking, and stakeholder communication

Primary Level Salary Range: $127,100.00 - $190,700.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
