Job summary

Convergint Technologies is seeking a full-time Project Manager in Westerville, OH, to handle all aspects of assigned projects from planning to execution.

The ideal candidate will have project management experience in a technical environment, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to customer satisfaction. You will be responsible for managing project budgets, schedules, and ensuring quality assurance throughout project lifecycle.

Qualifications

Job Summary: Convergint is looking for a full-time, enthusiastic, results driven and forward‑thinking Project Manager to join our amazing culture. In this role, you will be responsible for all aspects of assigned projects, including planning, scheduling, directing, application engineering, budgeting and procurement, as well as managing field installation, start‑up, and close out of assigned projects. You will ensure projects are effectively executed within budget, time schedules and provide positive cash flow. You will be the key interface with the customer and responsible for maximizing customer satisfaction, safety, and quality assurance on all assigned projects. Responsibilities
  • Manage many aspects of assigned projects (typically valued up to $1M) from award through completion of project, including overall site management for successful and timely completion within budget.
  • Prepare project installation plan, manage the plan and implement job procedures.
  • Translate a variety of customer needs and requirements into detailed proposals and project implementation plans; review and approve estimated costs prior to bid; engage in project contract negotiation; provide technical assistance to sales force as required; supervise project design engineering; supervise installation labor and subcontractors; prepare project schedules, subcontracts, change proposals, project invoices; assist with collections on projects.
  • Communicate project requirements to the project team and wider organization as required, and maintain accurate and up‑to‑date records of job status, changes, material flow and other control records necessary for processing of internal and external reports.
  • Act as “our customer’s best service provider” at all times, ensuring Convergint is the customer’s first choice for service.
  • Identify potential project risks and develop/implement strategies to minimize impact and control deviations from estimated costs and project deadlines.
  • Proactively communicate project schedules, change proposals and related activities on a regular basis with the customer and seek to continuously improve customer satisfaction.
  • Manage the procurement (including selection) of materials, supplies, services and controls necessary for timely and cost‑effective completion of the project within budget.
  • Establish project milestones and analyze costs; use financial systems to review actual vs. estimated job cost and provide timely and accurate project cost reports; identify reasons for low job site productivity and determine impact on the project; adjust or correct project plan or cost estimates as necessary to meet financial goals.
  • Manage the execution and review of all scope of work, terms and conditions in customer contracts including cost control, delivery fulfillment, quality control standards and quality of service as they arise.
  • Responsible for management of direct reports, if applicable; manage subcontractor selection process and work.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested or required.
What You’ll Need
  • Project management experience in a technical environment (building automation systems, fire alarm systems, electronic security systems and AV systems).

  • Basic knowledge and understanding of IT networking principles.

Requirements

Education: College degree, trade school or equivalent experience

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering or related field

Minimum Experience: 3 years relevant engineering, field service or project management

Preferred Experience (but not required)
  • Experience in 1 or more of the following industries: electronic, fire alarm & life safety, building automation and/or AV systems
  • Previous project supervisory experience
  • Certifications & licenses: Project Management Institute (PMI) certification; industry‑specific certifications and/or licenses; must have a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Salary Pay Range: $72,900 - $80,000
