Job summary

Goddard Technologies, Inc. in Wilmington, MA, is seeking a Project Manager with a product development background to join our growing team. You will manage client relationships and cross-functional teams to ensure project success, with a hybrid work arrangement and travel to client sites.

The role requires strong project management, technical acumen, and excellent communication to translate customer needs into actionable plans. Experience in Robotics/Automation is a plus; PMP is desirable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 4+ years in product development teams; PMP certification a plus.
• End-to-end product development understanding.
• Ability to understand client product and business needs.
• Strong communication with client, technical team and business development.
• Lead multidisciplinary design and development teams.

• Travel domestically up to 25%.
• Experience in Robotics Systems and Automation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Deliver profitable project outcomes by managing scope, budget, and client relationships.
• Coordinate program activities between client and Goddard engineering, design, quality, testing, documentation, and vendors.
• Work with Program Management to identify resources and kickoff with stakeholders.
• Generate dashboards, reports, and presentations for management or clients.
• Present weekly updates and enable data-driven decisions for the client.
• Define project structure for time entry, out-of-scope work, and risks.
• Identify resource adjustments and update ERP system.
• Motivate and manage project leads and team dynamics.
• Develop schedules and assign work; monitor progress against plan.
• Report back on architectures/systems that affect efficiency.
• Identify new business opportunities with existing clients and refine requirements.
• Support new business proposals and RFP onboarding.
• Ensure compliance with Quality Management System.

The Role

Goddard is seeking a Project Manager with a background in product development to join our growing team. In this role you will interface with the Goddard team as well as the client, managing client relationships and team members to manage expectations, ensure satisfaction and project success. The successful candidate will have excellent project management skills, technical expertise, and communication abilities. The Project Manager role is a hybrid position with frequent travel to client sites.

Responsibilities

• Deliver profitable project outcomes through effective project management by owning the project’s vision, tracking budget and project progress, maintaining a strong and open relationship with the client.
• Coordinate all aspects of program activities between the client and Goddard engineering, industrial design, quality, testing, documentation, etc. as well as with other external stakeholders (vendors)
• Work with Program Management to identify resources and coordinate project kickoff with all relevant stakeholders.
• Generate dashboards, reports, and presentations to deliver to internal management or clients. Present weekly updates on projects
• Communicate clearly with the client and empower them with data to help them make confident, prudent decisions throughout the product development process.
• Define project structure for time entry, capturing out of scope work, and tracking risks
• Identify necessary resource adjustments and update the Goddard ERP system.
• Motivate and manage project leads as well as the team dynamic.
• Generate schedules, tasks, and assign work to the team. Track and maintain project tasks/objectives to ensure the project is progressing as expected.
• Report back on Goddard architectures or systems which may be deficient or contribute to labor inefficiencies.
• Identify new business opportunities with existing clients. Work with the client to understand, refine, and agree on the new project requirements.
• Support new business/client proposal creation. Rapidly come up to speed on the project based on RFP documentation.
• Ensure compliance with the client’s or Goddard’s Quality Management System.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
• 3+ years of relevant PM/leadership experience, with 4+ years working on product development engineering teams. PMP certification a plus.
• A thorough understanding of the end-to-end product development process.
• Ability to discern and understand the client’s product and business needs.
• Excellent communication (written and verbal), collaboration, and relationship-building skills with the client, technical team, and business development team.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary high caliber design and development teams.
• Ability to understand technical challenges, be able to communicate the challenges internally and to the client and drive the team to an optimized solution.
• Ability to make informed decisions necessary to keep schedules and budgets on track.
• Experience in the development and management of products in Robotics Systems and Automation industry is a plus.
• Proficiency in the following software: Microsoft Office Suite, Gantt programs (such as MS Project), Task Tracking systems such as Asana, Jira, etc.
• Ability to travel domestically a minimum of 25%.

Salary Information

The pay range for this role is: 85,000 - 120,000 USD per year (Wilmington Office)
